Good news everyone!
I have passed my penal law exam.
···
That's actually good news.
—————
So on an entirely different subject. Does anyone here know anything about fishing?
When I was a kid my father used to drag me along with him whenever he went fishing.
I hated it.
He didn't take me to fish with him though, he simply wanted an audience. So I just stood there bored out of my skull while he kept throwing the line again and again.
Prick.
···
However I would like to overwrite those memories with something positive. And I'm thinking that this summer I'd like to try my hand at it. Who knows, maybe I will enjoy it. Thing is, I definitely want to spend as little as possible.
Cue Decathlon and its 13 buck fishing rod with reel.
Good enough for a total beginner who's on the fence about the whole deal and wants to save as much as possible?

So, taking into account that I'm not simply a total beginner but also absolutely ignorant. Why is that reel unsuitable for a beginner and what is it I should look for on a reel?

I'm figuring it's a big chore, especially if you have particle board pieces of crap to assemble.
Congrats :)

Not surprised about that after reading about the inspiration for the game :/

Hey, folks! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Just a quick hello before some more Witcher 3, then a walk once the lady and pup wake up from what has become one hell of a morning nap. :)
*big hugs all around*
j0ekerr: So, taking into account that I'm not simply a total beginner but also absolutely ignorant. Why is that reel unsuitable for a beginner and what is it I should look for on a reel? It's been since I was quite young, but from what I recall, the kind of reel he linked you is *much* easier to cast. It has a button you press in the back and hold down while drawing back, then let go when you're casting... the other common kind (like the one you linked) is a bit more complicated, in that you have to do some funky flipping-back-and-forth of the fishing line and the rounded silver bar that comes out near the handle, then you have to hold the fishing line against the rod and let it go with your finger to cast. I'm probably not doing a good job of describing it, but that's how I remember them being when I was 10 or so. The button-press kind is a million times easier to cast, especially if you're kid-me. ;)
ElTerprise: Well thankfully my room is mostly powered by IKEA so that's not the hard part - but i have to find enough space for books i originally had stored in another room :) Just curious, what IKEA bookshelves are you putting together? We've still got to put together 3 of the 4 Kallax shelves we ordered recently. They're quite easy to manage, we've just been a combination of lazy and busy. ;)
Yeesh, you made it longer than I ever have. Are you trying it with the new "kids" dlc, or just the base game? I haven't taken too good a look at the dlc yet, but the base game is a lot of fun. And crazy stressful. :)

I'm a bit annoyed at the developers for adding a new material to the base game, despite it only being useful in the DLC. And for not giving us the 2.0+ version until just now, 6 months late, because the DLC requires the base game to be patched.
Otherwise, yeah, a cool and compelling game.
Also, *big good morning hug* Hope you have a super-swell day :-)

I'm having a great day so far, thanks! I hope you have a great day yourself! We're going to head out in a bit to hit the hardware store to pick up parts for an umbrella for some shade out back, then will likely put a couple more of these bookshelves together. We're waiting on finding out whether or not we're going to the lady's parents' to visit later in the afternoon, though it's possible now we may just wait and do that tomorrow. I'm kind of hoping for the latter so I can just be lazier today. ;)

I'll probably end up getting the decathlon rod with that reel though. I doubt I'll get a better deal and they don't seem to stock the other kind.
So I'm guessing I'll just have to learn the hard way.

All is fine here, thank you - hope you're having a great weekend too :)
Well i'm just using the modular Ivar which is technically a "normal" regal but i'm using it mainly as a bookshelf for years :)

It's strange to look at Steam and see over 2,400 items under the heading of RPG.
I've always been of the opinion that a good RPG is one of the hardest type of games to pull off well, but so many people are still trying to make them.
Also, it's very strange to see Mass Effect being sold with none of its DLC items being attached. Would have figured EA to put everything for all three games together in one big bundle, call it the definitive collection or some such marketing crap, then charge people out the nose for it.
