EndreWhiteMane: Wow, your educational system is very complicated. The closest here would be 'vocational' or 'technical' I think.
I like your system, it gives you lots of options and paths to climb.
avatar
omega64: Yeah, your path upwards kinda depends on your High School level.
MBO has 3 different levels.
If you finish that at the highest level you can go to HBO and University is above even that.
I can see why you have one of the highest education levels in the world, you offer far more choices for students.
Here it's mandatory through high school, then either a technical school or university. Like many students I was bored to death in high school and never finished.
There are however more and more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) schools available. These give a much more interesting and applied choice for students. Wish they were around back in my day.

Pretty sure it's mandatory here too.
You need to study at least until you get your high school diploma.

That is pretty interesting that those are your only 2 real options in America.
You never finished High School?

j0ekerr: UAAUAGUGA

That's an RNA sequence, telling you to "quit it! x 3"

This is truly the last call.

Hurm. I'm loath to just walk away.

Endre, any cheap must haves I don't already own?
Master of Orion 1 and 2 if you didn't already. Look awful but top of the line games.
avatar
JunglePredator: I dunno... HBO makes some good shows but I hear they're not great to work at.
avatar
omega64: Oh fuck off, everyone makes that joke. :P
Edit: Americans at least.
Zeo beat you to it DAYS ago. (told him off too. :P)
Just call me the Pun-isher.

You know what? I actually don't.
Or the Zork anthology.
I did play a port of the Ur-quan masters on a linux korean handheld.
I was however distracted by all the emulators, and pokemon.

You never finished High School?
Kind of a long story but no I didn't, tried to go back and finish but was working 2 jobs at the time and something had to go. Just missed the last year and I really hate to say it, because I don't want to discourage any kids from getting an education, but It's never caused me any problems job wise.
Welp, I did follow your rec, and added Alien Breed to the cart.

And with the store credit, the latter came down to 29 cents.
I spend more on awful coffee I don't like.
——————
And with that I'm done. Got the very last minute purchase off my system and I'm glad with the games I got.
Didn't get any bundles this time. Although I would have liked a Tex Murphy one.
And now I'm thinking about getting those; GAAAH!

I was surprised to find out that my dad never finished, because as my school guidance counselors were always kind enough to point out, "If you fail high school, you cannot go to college, and will end up scooping elephant poop at a zoo." (Not a joke - a counselor actually told me that elephant thing.)
He did go to college for a couple years though, and had a long career as an electrician, without ever getting his high school diploma.

I never finished myself, which I regret... Just couldn't attend regularly with my health problems though.

EndreWhiteMane: To everyone: (is that lazy or what?) Having a very nice morning, I love rain even if it gets in the way sometimes.
Drinking coffee and reading the thread.
*more hugs, waves and those little folding umbrellas*
It is not lazy, but maybe put it in bold, so it catches everyones attention. :-)
I know it can be annoying answering the same question many times, so I never mind this kind of answer.

That is good to hear. The rain is lovely, and hopefully while it is nice, it won't spoil your plans too much. I hope the rain is making it nice and cool for you, not all hot and humid?

*big hug while opening the umbrella indoors and dancing around with it*
Good morning everyone, it's early in the day here... :)

Hoping you are all well and at the least, dong better than expected.

<big waves and silly hugs for everyone>

Wasn't it you that was working towards a GED though?
I'm off to have lunch so I'll miss the end of the sale, and won't be back later, because deadlines looming and want to concentrate what time I still have left to revising for tomorrow.

Have a pleasant day everyone of you. Don't let the cyborg vampire zombie bedbugs bite.
Seriously, don't.
I hate at the end of sales when games tease you to get them in the last minute. :-(

Good luck and hope the genetics thing will 'click' for you, it's not really too hard when you get the hang of it.
