AgentBirdnest: Bah... The Empress has played far more adventure games than me. And quite a lot of the ones I've played were based on her recommendation, so... She is much better :-)

edit : *little happy dance for the 110k post* \o/
Well I can always ask you both. :-)

And congratulations! *goes happy dance with Agent*

True. Never hurts to have multiple opinions. Might even be a bonus to have opinions of different genders and from different countries (but I'm not an expert and have not studied this topic :-p)

Have you ever played The Moment of Silence?

Not yet :-D It's also backlogged... Along with 45.62 of my catalog, of course :-p
avatar
ddickinson: "actually playing a game". o_O

Is that Dutch for something? I don't recognise that phrase in English. What is this playing games you speak off? :-)

How are you this evening, lovely Fearful? Have you been playing anything fun?

*big hug*
Hahaha yes, it's a strange magical thing. ;)

I'm doing fine, thanks. Taking it easy for the next two or so days, which is great. I've been playing some Jade Empire. I've beaten it before but I felt like coming back to it after a friend of mine mentioned she was playing it. It's a good game, by the way, if anyone's wondering about it. :P

*huge hug* Are you doing okay yourself?

avatar
ddickinson: Has anyone played J.U.L.I.A.: Among The Stars? I am going through my wishlist and pruning a few titles from it, and this is one of the ones I might remove. It looks nice, but I have also heard some not so nice things about it, especially regarding the puzzles.
I've only played the first 45 minutes or so. I liked what I saw but it wasn't long enough to really get a good impression of it.
avatar
AgentBirdnest: What is this evil demon-game that is more important than Fred?! >:-O

*Ahem* :-)
Eh ... Jade Empire? Grab it if you don't have it yet! :P

How are you doing, Agent?

superstande: Right on!
I really enjoy Le Guin's way of writing. Also CJ Cherryh seems very talented. I read Cyteen a few years ago and it blew my mind. That stuff almost inspired me to write a novel myself. But then I came to my senses :P
Anyhow, happy to hear you found interesting stuff to work with.
I've got some of Cherryh's e-books on my tablet, but I haven't actually found the time to read any yet. Maybe I will this summer, especially considering that recommendation. :P

Typical, would it kill you to play more games? :-)

Witchcraft, dark dark witchcraft! :-)

Well I still remember your old avatar from when we started chatting, so I know you like the game. In fact I think that is what made me buy it. I sadly have not played it yet, but I will some day. :-)

I am doing okay, I am on my lonesome for a few days, but other than that and my silly medication I am doing okay.

And thank you for the feedback. I am still unsure about the game given some of the mixed reviews about the quality of writing and the puzzles. But then other people give it glowing reviews, so it is hard to tell.

I actually have it in my above-mentioned backlog ^^ I'll assume it is good :-) But what makes it so good?

I'm doing decently okayish :-) A couple of rough days this week, but things seem to be improving, thankfully. I should be running marathons and scuba diving again by the weekend, which is totally what I did before :-p

It might, if I play for so long that I forget to eat and drink ô__ô !

We can fit you with an I.V. drip to keep you fed and watered, you would have no reason to leave the PC. :-)

Hahahaha, very much so. I'll probably be sacrificing some goats under the moonlight later. :P

Haha yes, that is true. Nice to hear it made you buy the game. I hope you'll enjoy it when you get around to it.

Hm, that's not too much fun. Hopefully you'll have some more company soon. Until then I guess we'll just have to entertain you on here. ;)

If I play more of it I'll let you know what I think. :)

Sounds like a plan. But... putting it in my hands or arms might hinder my gaming ability ,'',',,'):-|

Well, I mostly think the setting is pretty awesome. Most RPGs are set in the western world, but this one takes place in a China-like empire. So it's very different from what you usually encounter and I think it's a breath of fresh air. And I think the game design still looks really nice, even today. It's fun just to spend some time looking at your surroundings. And of course it's Bioware, and I'm a Bioware fan. I rather enjoy the writing. This game has some nice characters and some very good humor. A couple of the scenes make me laugh every time, no matter how often I've seen them. And there's a pretty awesome plot twist too. :)

Hopefully things will be better for you soon! And don't worry, I can't run marathons either. Although I did go diving once in a swimming pool ...

Those poor goats. At least sacrifice humans, they are less use to the world. :-)

I am sure I will, I bought it as I liked the look of it, not just because you force me to. :-)

Thank you. It will be okay, although I do with I could be more active so I could at least do things to pass the time. But then I have been feeling like that for a while now. But I do seem to be getting better since my last hospital visit, and once the medication is sorted I should be on my way to recovery with hopefully no more setbacks.

Thank you as well, but please do not play it just on my account.

*big hug*

Really? *sighs again* Okay, give me the needle. Now bend over... >:-)

ô__ô ! Sounds really interesting. I was just having a conversation about how an RPG set in China would be nice :-D Maybe this is some sort of sign. *X-Files music plays in background* ',','',':-|
