superstande: Stuff that Ursula le Guin wrote was pretty good. Should find one of her books someday. The Earthsea was quite lovely.
FearfulSymmetry: *hijacks conversation* Part of my master's dissertation was on Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness, but I can't say I've read anything else by her. *waves at rest of thread*
... just back from work. Beer time! :P
I haven't read that book but I've wanted to for a long time.
You have maybe the coolest subject :)
I haven't read much of Le Guin's books, only Earthsea saga and Dispossessed. Both were 100/100 in my opinion.

Sounds nice. :-)
That is good to hear. Well, it could be old, or it could just be you working hard and feeling warn out. Hopefully you can get some decent rest ready for tomorrow. Then you get the whole weekend to have fun.
Yezemin: Oh, was that a rhetorical question? *hug while trying to appear clueless*
I'm great, just one more day until the weekend. But I'm almost ready to fall into bed. I must be getting old.^^

I've spent lots of my energy trying to arrive at the doorstep of the Big Boss in Sorcerer King. The amount of fighting is overwhelming. A bit like the battle in Return of the King of Lord of the Rings... Except you have to move every unit in a turn-based-combat. So it takes... a while :)
Are you feeling good this evening?

*late reply time, because I got distracted actually playing a game*
Hey! Thank you, it's been pretty good. How are you?
Hey! *hug* I'm doing well, how are you?
I do plan on reading more of her books, definitely the sci-fi ones. I quite enjoyed Left Hand, finished it in one sitting.
I've seen that comic before. Your edit is pretty accurate for me too. :P

Hahaha, it was pretty awesome writing it. I did it on feminist science fiction and I got to read some really awesome things. :) ... just back from work. Beer time! :P

Maybe GOG is putting something in the water. :-) That could be it. Something just happens to some people when they open the front page :)

It does look like a nice game. Are you enjoying it, despite the time it takes?
I am doing okay, could be better, but could be worse as well. Definitely nothing I need to complain about.
"actually playing a game". o_O
Is that Dutch for something? I don't recognise that phrase in English. What is this playing games you speak off? :-)
How are you this evening, lovely Fearful? Have you been playing anything fun?
*big hug*

Has anyone played J.U.L.I.A.: Among The Stars? I am going through my wishlist and pruning a few titles from it, and this is one of the ones I might remove. It looks nice, but I have also heard some not so nice things about it, especially regarding the puzzles.

Ah, that must be it! :) It does look like a nice game. Are you enjoying it, despite the time it takes?

Yes, it's quite enjoyable. There is some freedom later on in the game where you can attach gems and such into unit's equipment and the unit can become quite unique. And there's this whole interesting scenario, where the world is already pretty much wrong. The bad dude has won... So the player is quite an underdog and tries to find a way to beat this despotic ruler.
Okay... Well... I hope you find a nice relaxing game to play if you have time for that sort of thing.

I really enjoy Le Guin's way of writing. Also CJ Cherryh seems very talented. I read Cyteen a few years ago and it blew my mind. That stuff almost inspired me to write a novel myself. But then I came to my senses :P
Anyhow, happy to hear you found interesting stuff to work with.

I am glad you are enjoying it. I have a few turn based games in my backlog, but I have not played any of them yet. I am not sure why, it is not like I don't enjoy turn based games, I guess I have just not been in the mood for them. Yes, it's quite enjoyable. I think Akh has tried it, and maybe Owl as well. You might ask them. I'm planning to try it too this weekend...

ddickinson: Thank you. I will be sure to ask them next time I see them. And maybe Agent as well if he plays it, he is usually a good judge of adventure games. :-)
Bah... The Empress has played far more adventure games than me. And quite a lot of the ones I've played were based on her recommendation, so... She is much better :-) edit : *little happy dance for the 110k post* \o/
