Well i heard that the playerbase on Mac and Linux is comparable (something around 1%...darn M$) and it shouldn't be too different getting games to linux considering it's also unix-based like Mac. And especially when using something like Unity it should be very easy to port games to Linux. The Thea devs did something interesting: They admitted that they had no experience with Linux whatsoever they ported it via Unity nonetheless and releases for free as an unsupported version which apparently works quite decent :)
Thanks. That sounds good. That game would fit into the GOG catalogue quite well - i hope we'll see it here eventually.
So Thea is free on Linux? Is that not a little unfair to other platforms who have to pay full price?
It would be nice here, but maybe too niece. GOG has to make room for classics like Omnibus after all. :-)

I have seen and own all of the Studio Ghibli movies, I have been watching them since I was little. :-)
Porco Rosso is my all time favorite, probably even better than Spirited Away, partly due to nostagia, and partly due to it being fresh new and strange when I first saw it.
I didn't care much for Howl's moving castle and I've yet to watch Arriety.

Yes. It is. But it's the unpatched and unmaintained launch version ---> http://steamcommunity.com/app/378720/discussions/0/490125737485986607/
You're probably right...i guess it's more likely to see Aliens: Colonial Marines on GOG than Brothers O_o

I don't care that they're not needed, I hate them on principle, it's enough that they exist.
You might like it. Personally I think Trine is the more interesting game.

It's a re-release. Figuring they made coin on the usual scheme first, then decided to package it all together for the second time of selling the game.
New games made your hardware obsolete every 9 months.
If you had been an early pentium adopter you were screwed without mmx.

Porco Rosso is one of my favourites as well. Princess Mononoke is probably my favourite, partly due to nostalgia. But so many of them are wonderful, and they blow the socks of any of the low quality stuff Disney made. I was not so keen on the later ones, the ones that started hiring more prominent Hollywood actors. It started to become more about which crappy celebrity was doing the voice over the actual film.
Arriety was nicely animated, and a nice entry in their catalogue. Howl's I was a little torn on. It was a good movie for what it was, but not like the book at all. They even met the author, but paid little attention to what she said and just did it their own way (so why bother talking to her to begin with?). The book was far better, IMO.

I see, but still, it seems a little unfair in some ways to those paying full price at launch, when at that time it would have been the same version.

That is true, but then Macs are not really gaming computers, while Linux machines can be just as PCs can be. I guess it is down to coding the game to work on each platform. But as ELT said, many now use Unity, which seems to support everything, even mobile devices.

She had been so impressed with Miyazaki's earlier work, that she basically gave him carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. Giving him full creative freedom to make a completely original story set in the many years that go by between the books if he wanted to.
Instead his son Goro, adapted the books and the result was a pitiful adaptation that pissed Leguin off something fierce. And made Ged white.

Well it's certainly not ideal but on the other hand paying customers got the patches and the free content expansion which is missing form the Linux build. I'd consider that one as a beta of some sort - if the devs are going to make a proper Linux version at some point - which they might - i guess they'll ditch that build....
Additionally the Windows version is apparently running flawlessly in Wine which means that this build might encourage people to actually buy the game.
Yep. Homeworld is published by Gearbox. But A:CM would also require Sega...

I don't know what Goro has or hasn't done. But there were rumours of some severe horn-locking between him and his father.

I have never been so pleased that Sega was not here if it means us not getting that game. :-)
And so his son decided to ruin it all bit by bit and be more American with it all. Typical kids. :-)
