ddickinson: Fair enough. But maybe next time just don't but a terrible game, then you won't have to play it. :-)

Are sandstorms worse in the summer months or the winter months?
Not planning to get any more of those, I can assure you.
Just remembered plan B and executed it. Had Steam delete the fucking pain in my ass from my account permanently.
I might be half-crazed, but there's no way I'd buy it again. No chance in hell.

It's a mix. If the wind's strong enough, it'll happen regardless of season.

ddickinson: If the game does catch your eye, by all means let me know as I have an old key for the game (and the second one) that you would be more than welcome to have.
It does look very interesting, but it would likely be some time before I got to it. If you have someone else to gift the spare codes to, please do. If you've a spare code for the first and don't mind that I may not get to it right away, I'd gladly give it a try. :) Otherwise I'll certainly keep an eye on them and watch for a sale, maybe check out a youtube vid or two to get a feel for it in the mean time. Thank you for the offer either way! :)

Is there anything about the game you like, or are you just torturing yourself to get it completed 100%?

I guess that makes sense. I have never been in a desert, let alone lived in one, so I have no real knowledge of sandstorms, just things I have read and forgotten.

Come now, the codes are old codes, so clearly I have had no luck finding them a home, so you are more then welcome to them. They are by no means incredible games, but I enjoyed them. They have some good themes, some sightly based on true events, and even references to things that are like the Goetia, but not quite.

Give me a minute and I will send you the key for the first two games (I don't have a spare one for the third, sadly). You are under no pressure to play them anytime soon, so don't worry. They can stay on your shelf for years and it would still be okay. It is nice just finding something to gift you and knowing it goes to a good home.
Okay, now that I've managed to remove the shard of glass from my mind, I need to pick out some games to play.
That should only take a week. -laughs-

Any games that you are trying to decide between?
Namaste!

Also a giant thank you and a recommendation for warm plus attack by all to ElT the bold frontier ranger! :)

I found a beer called Hopventure. Sipping it now to celebrate my day job holiday start...

Thinking about it...no, not really. The music's a loop, the courses are too long, the controls range from sometimes to infuriatingly wonky, there's no story, there's nothing of interest, it's just the player pushing a single button to navigate obstacles.

Well, around here, the wind will pick up heavily at the drop of a hat. There are weeks where sandstorms pop up every afternoon, just because.
Considering it more, it probably does occur more frequently in the summer, since there's even less moisture to weigh down the sand.

Good afternoon!

Congratulations on the start of your day job holiday! Is the beer nice?

And yet you still play it :-). What are you hoping to do on it before you can finally put it behind you and move on?

We get a lot of wind here, but few places in Europe have deserts. We did get some sandstorms blowing all the way from Africa into Europe previously, which caused some problems in France I believe.

If you're ever into annoying strategy gaming, Sorcerer King might be fun ;)
Deleted my saves yesterday since it seemed I hadn't grasped the rules well enough - was getting destroyed all of a sudden and there seemed to be little point in trying. But every new start feels actually more fun - more rules understood :)

Let's see...

Resident Evil 4 (still), Paper Sorcerer, Rebel Galaxy, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Noctropolis, Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Vampire Bloodlines and Wolf Among Us.

Also, I have a bunch of stuff on Netflix that I've started watching but haven't finished. Can't forget those since they're also time consuming.

Afternoon... All right, why not :)
Thank you :)

It's a 'British IPA' with quite a good aftertaste, and overall slightly bitter. So yes, quite nice :)
Not that I'm bitter :P

Oh, I'm not playing it anymore. I'm not playing it ever again. I might not be able to turn it into a physical copy to rip to shreds, but I can sure as hell delete it forever, so I did.

A transcontinental sandstorm...that must have been insane. I think I'll stick with the garbage I have here. -laughs-

Hmm. Pretty sure I have that one. Will add it to the current mix of stuff, thank you. =)

Okay, let's see what random unhelpful nonsense I can come up with.

- Resident Evil 4 (still): Killing zombies, but probably not as good as the originals?
- Paper Sorcerer: Erm... a wizard whose only magic power is paper-craft?
- Rebel Galaxy: Dark Vader destroying those annoying murdering rebels?
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Something to do with the Life of Brian?
- Noctropolis: A game near the top of my to play list with all my other kindly gifted games that I put right at the top for when the mood takes me.
- Castlevania Lords of Shadow: If this is like the old Castlevania, then what is not to like.
- Vampire Bloodlines: I know you really like this game, but also that you have probably played it quite a few times, so maybe play a new game unless you wanted a relaxing replay?
- Wolf Among Us: A slightly interactive movie for people too lazy to watch a proper movie?

Yep, I am that helpful. :-)

Sadly I have not played any of them, so I can't offer any real advice. They are quite different, but from what I have heard they are good for the most part, so hopefully no games you will hate.
More soon, folks! Thunderstorm incoming, seems. Enjoy your time-of-day! :)

Thanks so much! I'll say more later in the evening once this storm passes, as I'm convinced we'll lose power any minute now... usually all it takes is high winds, so for it to pour like this and still have power is a bit odd, haha. Thanks again and have a wonderful evening!

*Big hugs and waves all around*

ddickinson:
You might think that unhelpful, but it made me laugh. =)

Would normally agree with you regarding Vampire Bloodlines, but that's a tricky one.
It needs seven full runs for me to call it dead, so I want to get started. That's going to take a while.
