ddickinson: Is it? I guess I am just a simple farm girl with simple values. I don't see the need to judge people over silly things. Besides, I like you the way you are.

True, and also a dangerous precedent to set. I have seen a few people on here panic as they gave in and used money that was needed elsewhere. As appealing as the sale might be, there will always be another chance. There are many things more important than computer games.
That makes no sense to me. I mean, sure, if you're new to the experience, you can totally be like a kid in a candy store. Buy everything in sight, treat it like the last sale you'll ever see.
But that wears off. Everything comes around again 99 times out of 100, at the same prices if not cheaper.
Perfect example? Vampire Bloodlines. I bought it day one, full price, no regrets whatsoever, and that's fine. But it's now on sale for half off, just a few months later.

ddickinson: You know, in some parts of the world "hot" means sexy/very attractive. Just saying. So I will read that as you being offering a "tired and too sexy hug". :-)

*big energising hug for the tired sexy Owl*
What a kinky comment... -___-
I'm not even surprised, coming from you...
**big sleepy hug for the most dirty-minded english farm lady ever**

Maybe it is a bit like gamblers who bet too much. Some people get caught up in the moment, and I am sure many regret it afterwards. I think the only reason you would never get a game on sale again was if it was pulled, and while there have been a few recently, the chances are slim of that happening.

That is the last time I try to compliment a lovely French lady to help cheer up her day. :-(

Wait, I am only mostly dirty minded now? You alway said I was completely dirty minded. I must be getting better, or should that be worse? :-)

*big silly hug*

Empress_Owl: Maybe we could make a trade... i give you our non stopping rain and floods, and you let us your annoying sun... ? :-)
I like sunny days... i just don't like being stuck under sunlight (we ate outside)... >___o
Ho, go on, I've got all my time... hihi n__o ... i wonder how you manage to still have so many games on your wishlist, as you already own so many... you're a wizard...
I would make that trade with you happily, all day long. =)

It's not wizardry, I only have a few high priority items. Everything else ranges from mild interest to completionist tendencies. (-looks at DLC listings and grumbles about the days when such shit didn't exist-)

There's a lot of stuff to choose from. If I was starting out, I'd go with classics. Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, Deus Ex, X-Com, the Gold Box D&D games, the Lucasarts adventures, System Shock 1 and 2, the Bullfrog games like Dungeon Keepeer 1 and 2, Vampire Bloodlines, Lands of Lore, the Tex Murphy games, Jagged Alliance.

That's stuff I'm seeing in the sale that I'd be going for if I didn't have it all already.

Do you think it will make the goal in time?

That sounds accurate. It's easy to get swept up in an emotion, even over something like a sale.

Even the games that have been pulled, more than a few aren't particularly good.
I kinda doubt the world was beating down GOG's door to get ahold of Superfrog and Simon the Sorcerer 4.

Well, I kind of think so, yes :) ...but it's my first time, so it's just a guess...

...hey, it's $665 now :)

I'm considering upping my pledge, at least if funding is still questionable a bit closer to deadline. I still really need to put the time into Serpent in the Staglands, too. I had a false start of it before actual release, and really enjoyed the mechanics, but then never did get back to it to really give it an earnest playthrough.

Dance party time! So glad that our air conditioner is working, and that this dog is almost as easy to entertain as myself. ;)

I just watched this movie called: 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and it is good :P
I will be going now so I will wish you all a lovely day. I will stick around on chat for a little longer, but apart from that I will say my goodbyes. I hope you all have a lovely rest of the day. Take care, and try to behave yourselves. :-)

*hugs and waves*

I tend to agree, I can't say I was that keen on the games. But even if they were bigger games, it would still be a limited thing. Unless something is going on behind the scenes, I doubt publishers will leave GOG in large groups.

Well then, good luck with your first backing. By the looks of it it seems like it will make it.

Well, actually, now it's rolling quite fast... I'm thinking of going for the next tier if it's the last few hours and still not over the hill. But with this pace it's done in less than 10 hours already.

I never even bought SitS... didn't have the money back then, although was excited about it :)
