ddickinson: How come when I am not getting games, all but one of my games goes on sale. I smell a conspiracy here. :-)

But anyway, how are you all liking today's lineup? See anything that catches your eye?
I would buy you something but you asked me not to.
Need to check out other people's wishlist later though. :P

Probably gonna pick up Turok.

-laughs- Funny how that goes sometimes. I kind of expected the Sherlock bundle to pop up again, along with Shadowrun Hong Kong. Haven't played the Sherlock games yet, but I like Hong Kong quite a bit. (And you know how bitchy I tend to be.)

It's still pretty much what's on my list. Some of them are more expensive, and it's still too early to commit all my coin to a few items, so I'm waiting.
So I return and see that GoG put up Huniepop with a 69% discount (at least for dollar currencies) - well played GoG, well played. Also, they seemed to hide a fairly interesting looking game under a sub-category - almost didn't even notice it: THARSIS? Looks worth checking out for boardgame enthusiasts (getting sort of a Battlestar Galactica vibe from the "dice roll skill checks").

And Crow I went... Toreador! There are A LOT of skills in the game - more than I expected (didn't think I'd see "modern" skills like Hacking and Finance... well not that finance is modern, but you get the idea). I'm not sure how I feel that the "main" skill often feeds back from a "minor" skill that seems like the same thing (Hacking is based on... Computer? Why are there two??? LOL).

But just based on the tutorial... love it. Totally reminds me of Alpha Protocol. Even the sneaking seems like it's going to be fun. Can't wait to branch out into the game proper. My current idea for a character is going to be decent "face" skills (persuasion / seduction maybe?) and a strong perception stat (I forget what the skill is called that finds hidden objects - Inspection maybe? - to back up perception). Not sure how deep down combat I'll go or if I want melee or ranged yet...

I know, and I truly appreciate the offer, but I am not really good at accepting gifts, so I try to avoid it where I can as I feel bad getting gifts. :-)

I think I played the original version of Turok, but I can't be sure. Hopefully you will have lots of fun with it.

You, bitchy? I am sure I don't know what you mean. :-)
I expected them to go on sale, but this is the first time I can remember where so much of my wishlist was on sale. GOG is just trying to test my resolve. :-)

I gathered as much. It will be interesting to see how much of your wishlist you remove by the end of the sale.
Very successful walk with Sarge! He's finally getting the loose leash walking thing down a good 75% of the time, and does great until he just goes past his threshold for sensory input. Then it's all sorts of fun. ;)

It's already hotter than a donkey's bathing suit areas outside, so we're going to play inside for a while. Holy crap. Summer is barely here and I'm so ready for it to be over.

Enjoying the slower pace of this sale. And the slow pace of today.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun:

Hacking is based on the combination of your Wits attribute and your Computer skill. The maximum difficulty for a check is 10, so under normal conditions you'd need Wits 5 and Computer 5 to do so.
If you're wanting to boost that ability, I suggest investing in the Auspex discipline, since it raises both Wits and Perception for a short time when you use it.
For every point in Auspex, it will raise your Wits and Perception by that same amount. So Auspex 1 gives you one point, Auspex 5 gives five.
Very useful for those computers with high difficulty ratings. It will help with both hacking and finding hidden items or secret passages (which is what inspection does, you find hidden things in the world if your rating is high enough, and it's the combined total of your Perception attribute, your Investigation level, any bonuses from Auspex, and a +2 bonus if you're Malkavian).

A persuasion/seduction character might work out well. No experience with it, but I do know that seduction can be useful for getting blood since you can go into clubs, seduce certain people and partially drain them right out in the open with no penalty. The people are also a higher quality blood source, so you can refill quickly. It's useful in those "I'm running low, there are too many people around, I need blood without getting spotted" moments.

Uh huh...sure you don't. -laughs-

Well, I've cleared 10 so far. Not expecting to complete it all by any means. I have too many expensive items, and I refuse to skip paying bills for games. I'm not that far gone.

Good afternoon. =)

-breaks out the wading pool, only filled with cool clear water rather than coffee- ;)

Can't complain here. It's sale time, so things could be much worse. -laughs-
I hope you're doing at least all right aside from roasting your feathers off.

-laughs- Sounds like you've got a good puppy, and you're doing a good job of training them with what they need to know.

Could not agree with you more regarding summer. I don't have experience with your kind of summer, it's probably worse than mine by far thanks to humidity, but even a dry roast still sucks endless amounts of ass.

i indeed got sunburnt... see ! we French owls are never satisfied... Non-stopping rain which causes floods and grey, dark, cold and wet atmosphere all day long ? we cry. Hot temperatures and a bright, shining sun in a sky ? we complain about sunburns and benig too lazy and sleepy to work... :-)
Did you see anything interesting within today's discounted games ?... is it me, or are there far less than yesterday ?... (how the heck does that sale work... ?)

I can't complain about rain. I'd take three steady months of it raining every day over a lot of sunlight.
Went out, did yard work for a little bit, got sunburned. It was like my pasty skin reminded me that sun is a very bad thing.

You would be right, there's a lot less new stuff. Thinking the rest of the flow will be more gradual, until the repeats start to hit. Still too early to get an idea of how the bundles will work. Maybe they'll keep those going at a more steady pace for the sale.

I could list off the stuff I find interesting for whatever reason, but it'd take a bit. -laughs-

Not a bad list, although I think I own only two form the list. And have fun with your gifting!

You know, in some parts of the world "hot" means sexy/very attractive. Just saying. So I will read that as you being offering a "tired and too sexy hug". :-)

Actually I haven't, I can say there is one point where I thought you were bitch. So there. :-)

Hmmm, that sounds overly logical. But I guess with them being games that are not super high priority for you I can understand that you want to be grown up and pay bills first.

-smiles- That's very tolerant of you. -laughs-

It's not my forte, but even I have to be rational sometimes. The day I spend bill money on video games is the day I know I'm not thinking clearly anymore.

Is it? I guess I am just a simple farm girl with simple values. I don't see the need to judge people over silly things. Besides, I like you the way you are.

True, and also a dangerous precedent to set. I have seen a few people on here panic as they gave in and used money that was needed elsewhere. As appealing as the sale might be, there will always be another chance. There are many things more important than computer games.

Maybe we could make a trade... i give you our non stopping rain and floods, and you let us your annoying sun... ? :-)
I like sunny days... i just don't like being stuck under sunlight (we ate outside)... >___o
Ho, go on, I've got all my time... hihi n__o ... i wonder how you manage to still have so many games on your wishlist, as you already own so many... you're a wizard...
