ddickinson: But... but... What am I suppose to do now with all these candles? I was going to melt them all and use the was to make your models. I am sure it would look completely like you. And by completely I mean nothing like it at all. :-)

I have been liking that they release new games sometimes during sales as it can make the dull sales a little more enjoyable for long time customers. But you are right that maybe it should have overlapped with Connect, given the publicity it got them and possible new customers. But then again, maybe they wanted a few days of new customers buying games at full price before sales started?
Easy. Religious types love candles. Tell them the candles are special, their lord and savior spit on them at some point, something like that. They'll eat that shit up and pay top dollar.

Yes, that does help. The only games I got from the bundle tower were new ones. Already had everything else that I wanted.

It could've been useful, I think.
I don't really think a lot of people are buying a lot of stuff beyond the newest items right now. Budgets are limited, so unless it's something they want immediately, they'd probably wait until the sales to do any shopping. It makes much more sense financially.
It's like right now, I've got 13 items that are 7 dollars or less on my list. I could grab them all right now, wipe it all out, but it'd be silly to do so when I know there's a sale coming. Even if the items are only 25 percent off, I'm still saving 22.75 if I wait.

CarrionCrow: No they wouldn't. The thread people have better taste than that.

Or, I paint the US flag on them and sell them as patriot candles ready for the 4th of July. That way I don't have to deal with all that saviour spit stuff. :-)

You have a good point. Most gamers who are used to any digital store know all too well that sales are common, which is probably why so many people wait for sales unless the game is a must have game or a new game. I guess being a Steam and GOG user is nice as you get sales on many stores at different times.
Just beat X-Step, after hundreds and hundreds of attempts, while so tired I can feel the strain of keeping my head upright. What a fucking son of a whore that was.

Now I get to choose between Blast Processing and Geometrical Dominator, the last two levels listed as slightly less difficult than the other 8 left to go.

You would have to be more in the range of "I beat Fahrenheit 50 times, because I loved the story and gameplay soooooooooo much" to have the sheer level of psychotically piss-poor judgment to want the item D described.

Well I will be saying goodbye for now. I think I pushed myself a little too much being online for so long, but it was nice chatting with you all, and it helped to keep me awake as I am trying to sleep less now that I am back home.

Take care, everyone, and I hope you all have a lovely day!

*hugs, waves, and these 4th of July candles I am selling for top dollar, however much that is* :-)

That would work too. Some jackasses would take those off your hands in a hurry then.

Yeah, the general PC gaming public has been conditioned to shoot for sales above nearly all else.

The rental store does more sales a week than GOG, by far. Between those and Humble sales, it can open up the range quite a bit.

Greetings everyone, hope you're all doing well and at the least, better than expected.

All is well for me, thankfully. Budget is a little tight but other than that, can't complain.
Rough month last month though... heh!

Good morning. =)

In that case, I'm very glad things have improved. If this month is tight, sounds like the month before was a massive pain to deal with.

Howdy Crow! How's the world turning for you?

Aye, things are still tight, budget wise and will be for sometime. Can't be helped.
The pain was more like a step forward through awakening, matters of the heartfelt stuff,
that hopefully makes me stronger. heh!

Still weaving forward on the books, page by page. :)

FearfulSymmetry: Oh wow, I just got a 9 (out of 10) for my master's dissertation! That's insanely high! I can barely believe it. :D
Right on! Congrats!!

That should be a relief too :)

...

And now a commercial break :P

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1649838104/copper-dreams/

Copper Dreams is in need of funders - From Whalenought Studios who made the Serpent in the Staglands rpg.

"A CRPG featuring cyber-espionage on the edge of the galaxy. Turn based combat with timed actions, stealth and chainsaw arms."

They need about $6,400 in 5 days... might be difficult...

Alright... that's it! ... I'll stuff myself with pizza and head for bed.

Cheerio!
