I hate to be the pessimist here, but I don't think the summer sale will start today. I think it'll start tomorrow or Wednesday. Of course, GOG can feel free to prove me wrong.^^

Yep, the convention was a lot of fun. And some of the best costumes are even missing from those pictures (fully functional Transformers, anyone?). There was an oversaturation of Harley Quinns though.

Since my chat is finally working again, I replied via chat rather than on the thread.

Hm... fair prediction. The missing Staff Picks don't necessarily mean that the sale will be today. It could be tomorrow or Wednesday (I think that is how it worked for the Winter sale? No staff picks, and the sale started on Wednesday, if I remember right.)

Functional Transformers? ô__ô Amazing. I've never had the motivation/inspiration/passion/all that stuff to make a cool costume. I'm always impressed by those who do :-)

Edit : I'll be the optimist, and say that whenever the sale does start, I think it will kick off with some big classic releases. Maybe some missing Bethesda games, or Call of Duty, or Bioshock or something :-)

Yeah, I'll buy it if it comes on gog summer sale, so sure, I can write some review here. Some goggers wrote the newer Sorcerer King was too simple and Fallen Enchantress was a good game... but I've been happy with SK :) Might be one of those games - some love, some hate :)

I had lots of inspiration, just lacking in the motivation department. And I'm all fingers and thumbs, that might also be a problem.

From what the people said, it sounds like it could be the usual "this is too much of a learning curve" versus "this is dumbed down" argument.

I don't think I would do well where you are. I don't mind nice sunny days, but I am not a fan of overly hot days.

I wonder if the sale will start once the Connect stuff is over with. So is this connect going to be a featured sale often, or will the page of available games update for the Steam users in the background and it will be up to users to check?

I don't do well with it, and I've been here for a while. It's just shitty in general, thoroughly unpleasant unless your idea of a good time involves heat stroke and the slow onset of skin cancer.

To me, it makes more sense to go now. I thought the Connect time limit was ending when the sale did, but with the extra time they can still get more exposure for everything all at once.
Beyond that, it seems a better idea to get the frenzy going, rather than having people waiting impatiently.
Also, extra expenses have a bad habit of popping up at inopportune moments. Better to strike fast to get as much coin as possible from the customers.

I don't think it'll be a sale every time. That's probably to help promote the start of the program.
When they get more companies involved, they'll put it up on the site, then give people a certain amount of time to do the additions of their rental games, like they're doing now.

I think I've got everyone beat. It hit 44ºC here yesterday :-)
