It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Ixamyakxim: That might be it but it looks a bit more obtuse this time around (though I think I'm using a newer version of Firefox now). Is there one similar but a bit more user friendly / less dense? That really feels like it was the one I was thinking of though - thanks!
Here's the rest of them:

I never knew about that - to tell you the truth I don't even remember how I found out about the one I was thinking of in the first place - I THINK I may have turned off the option to make youtube videos (even ones embedded in sites) fullscreen - fun ;)

*edit Almost thought I had it - about:permissions but that one doesn't seem to exist :(

CarrionCrow: Actually, you could help me narrow the field a bit.
Go to gogwiki.com. Check under active users. There you can see my name and current collection.
When you have a moment, scroll through them and tell me what you think sounds appealing.
Depends. What genre do you enjoy the most? I'm primarily an adventure/puzzle/point and click fan, so I could tell you all about such games as Ben There, Dan That, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, Q.U.B.E., Myst, Memoria, or even World of Goo, but I have no idea whether you'd actually like this stuff or not.
I also don't know which you've already played, either.

LOL thanks - I'm on a full reinstall and haven't been able to get my Windows Update to get by "Checking for Updates" (I have the WHOLE day tomorrow free so hopefully I'll get it done then LOL) ...

... so needless to say I haven't been doing any hunting on a browser. I set GoG as my homepage after reinstalling Firefox and just popped on here to grab a game to play for the night and apparently harass you for tech support. (I trust GoG ... AND NO BANNERS / ADS!).

So thank you very much for the hand!
I'm going to leave this here for people that like to learn about stuff.
https://www.thegreatcoursesplus.com/

They have a mother site where you can buy these courses outright.
https://www.thegreatcourses.com/

I've bought 8 courses from them over the years, always at their 'normal' 70% discount. Turns out that would have paid for about 2-1/2 years worth of membership to the new plus site.
These are professional courses ranging from a few hours to 36 hours each.
I don't recommend too many things but I will this.

Just keep going with ones you think are good. That works for me.
Just a quick hello before I try to get some sleep. Hi, Fred! :)

Thanks for sharing this! Being disabled means a ridiculous amount of free time, and plenty of limitations on how I can spend it... This looks like a dream. I'm going to take a better look at the site and subscription details in the morning, but this looks incredibly promising. :)

Alright, well...
From your list, I personally played and enjoyed the most:
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper
realMyst
Ben There, Dan That/Time, Gentlemen, Please!
Her Story
The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief
VVVVVV (note: I haven't played through the whole thing yet)
The Inner World
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - 20th Anniversary Edition
Broken Sword 5
The Secret of Monkey Island
Another World
Sam & Max Hit The Road
The Black Mirror
Machinarium
Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within
TeenAgent
Beneath a Steel Sky

That's all that comes to mind after a quick/not-too-deep scan. If you like, I could explain what I particularly enjoyed about each game, or point out games I didn't like as much.

That's okay, you don't need to spend hours typing. The recommendations are useful as is, thank you.

Should I open a topic about gog connect? Looks like it is trend now :P

You sure? I can type pretty fast, and I haven't much else to do.
If you ever have a question about a specific game that you think I might have played, I'm always here.
So I take it GOG Connect is broken now?
When I check the connect page it says it's connecting for a few seconds (30?) & then goes "oops something went wrong" & stays like that.

I've said this in about 5 other threads, but I'll say it again:
Wait. Be patient. Give it at least 24 hours, they're swamped with people all trying to connect at once.
Hiya folks! *Runs Away to VideoGameVIlle while humming Skyrim's theme*
