EndreWhiteMane: I made a little 'pet flap' in a window for the cat. Sadly the dog needs supervised or on his chain when outside.
He gets A LOT protective if another dog comes in our yard. Boxers have very small teeth but he's not afraid to use them. He takes Get Off My Lawn! to the next level. :-)
Hmm. That might be an option here, so long as it can be sealed at night. Coyotes and owls will kill and eat a single cat without a second thought.

Two of the three dogs are the same way. One's mostly blind, the other is rather dim. The dim one almost lost a leg on one of their little "let's run off into the desert" excursions. Roommate had to spend a month treating it for them to recover.

-laughs- That's a useful quality, so long as they don't end up dropping a lawsuit from a jackass in your lap.
The three here are useful for barking, that's about it.

CarrionCrow: That works. The heat knocks the energy out of them.

Around here, it's two dogs who can't be allowed to run around on their own, so they have to be brought in and watched just in case they find trouble to get into, one who goes in and out as they wish.
Along with that, there are five cats who expect to be let in and out a hundred times a day before they finally run out of energy. The sixth sleeps at least 16 hours a day, displaying the most energy when she hisses at her own children. -laughs-

Have you seen the commercial with the miniature horse and the pet flap? It always makes me cry. ;P

Hey, Owl lady. =)

Can't complain here. Normal day in progress. Still waiting on sales, wondering if I should get Salt and Sanctuary now or wait to see if it shows up on GOG.

How was your day?

I just watched it and you're right. ;) That's kinda how my Basset was, no other dogs liked him. About the same size as this pony too, only shorter. :-)
Hi everybody. How is everybody's day going?
Crow can't see my posts but tell him miniature donkeys are often used to protect house pets and livestock from coyotes and wolves.

We haven't heard from or seen one in the two years we have had ours, and several small farmers we know swear by them for protection.

What do they do, stomp on them? Or just run them off? Serious question.

They literally kick the shit out of them. :P They do that once and that's enough; nothing is stupid enough to approach again.

The same can be said of blaring Nickelback music out of a couple speakers on your front lawn.
Only people who'll ever visit you after that are the Homeowner's Association.

Sounds like the family dogs might be a little bit at risk too.

Hi ElT, yeah a lot of people sweating today. Supposed to cool a bit here in the next 2 days, that'll be nice.
What does 'op platt' mean?
