j0ekerr: Good moaning.

I've decided to avoid the last minute rush and get what I want as early as Sunday, boring, yet practical.
Not really much of a choice though. There's only 3 games I fancy, and of those 3, my interest in two of them is tepid at best.
Overlord's my main interest. I've been told that it gets stale too soon, but in the meanwhile it does provide some nice laughs.
My interest in Larry is due to nostalgia, my love for the glorious days of CGA graphics and the youthful days when even pixelated boobs were able to incite a reaction in me. Also dirty jokes.
And Act of war... well it looks nice; I guess.

What do you guys think of Overlord? Is it like Evil Genius? An interesting fun concept that gets boring fast and is marred by terrible AI? Or is it worth it for the laughs it provides?
Good morning. =)

I don't think so. From my experience, Evil Genius is screwed up massively by not only the bad AI, but the combination of nasty bugs and a downright glacial gameplay pace. I've never heard of Overlord having any of those problems.

I can give you a copy for free if you don't mind it being on Steam.

Ah, yeah. Don't know if it counts as a bug, but I hated it whenever superagents got in my base, killed all my valets, and started a fire.
IT'S A FIRE EXTNIGUISHER, NOT A PROTON PACK, WHY DOESN'T ANYONE ELSE KNOW HOW TO USE IT?

That's extremely kind of you, but I'll have to pass. I've already let it go (much like a Disney princess) from Steam on multiple ocassions, precisely for it being Steam (and not including the Raising Hell pack). Thank you very much for the offer, though.

Hurm, from some of the reviews, my lack of interest in master of magic seems almost blasphemous. Have I sinned?

That was actually an intended gameplay mechanic, as ridiculous as it is.
In that situation, I'd use the valets to gradually wear down the superagents until they got confused and left.

Spin-doctors worked better but I never had enough at my base.
The problem was (if I remember correctly) that I had to micromanage the valets to confuse the superagent. If I didn't notice his arrival, then he just started killing everyone, and for some reason, the valets always went first.
Actually the whole problem with Evil Genius was too much micromanaging.
And the bugs.

I still need to play that one through. Not really looking forward to it.

Good morning, Owl lady. =)

-breaks out the extra-large wading pool of coffee for you to relax in-

In that case, happy French Mother's Day to you.

How are you doing today?

CarrionCrow: It's very quiet here. Just about 1 am, and every living thing in the house is asleep except for me.
Very much wanting to grab a game to get into, but I'm on episode 10 of Daredevil season 2 and don't want to break the flow. (Broken series flow makes me end up rewatching stuff.)
Alright, good to hear :)
Quiet sounds good :)
Yeah I can get that broken series flow... have given up on many series because of it.

How things change. My roommates' sleep schedules are halfway to being as screwed up as mine. They both woke up a while ago, despite it being the middle of the night.

Yep, it sucks. I've restarted Twin Peaks at least 3 times because of that problem.
Now on episode 11 of Daredevil. After that, I'm going to find a game to focus on. Still so many I want to beat, but haven't.
Good afternoon everyone *big hugs and waves*

I hope you're all having a great sunday :)

Good afternoon. =)

Can't complain here. Had a good breakfast, drank a bunch of coffee, and I'm almost finished watching Daredevil.
After that, I've got a number of actual good games to choose from. Think I'll play something that doesn't make me die a little inside during.

How's your day going?

Hey Crow :)

Glad to hear that. Daredevil is still on my 'to watch list' :)
A relaxing FPS maybe?

I'm doing quite good. Still committed to move back to the attic with all my stuff but otherwise everything's fine :)
Hello, ElT! :)
Are you going to live in somebody's attic? :P

Here's a small list of games that might be fun to try, with some puzzles and relaxing atmosphere (list inspired by another thread about music in games):
1. Nova-111 - sorta turn-based action with puzzles
2. Nightsky - minimalistic 2d puzzle... thing?
3. Hexcells Infinite

It's good. Have spent the last few days watching it.

Maybe a bit later. Right now, I'm looking for something that's less reflexes, a lot more thinking, and hopefully with a good story.

Ugh. Moving everything up staircases is not fun. Hopefully you don't have too much stuff to shift around.
