Fairfox: My weight-loss has plateaued and I'm maintaining! Now I'm 'only' 1.2 or-so under my lowest healthy BMI figure. Admittedly not great and I'm not really gaining, buuut... better? I'm (just) over the technical anorexic level, anyhoo.
That's good news! :-) As one with the opposite problem I'd gladly give you a few pounds of mine, I have plenty to spare. :/
Was like you when I was younger though, ate like a horse and stayed skinny as a stick, neither extreme is much fun.

I'm trying to pin down the exact console that Omnibus' graphics are supposed to be duplicating, or resembling.
Can't quite put my finger on it. It's not 8 or 16-bit, it's not something more polished.
Maybe on the level of N-64?

How about that abomination called 3DO?
Or the console that must not be named. The one with "MAAAAH BOIIIII"
There was also the Atari mangy cat.

Not sure, N-64 actually looks much better I think.
I'm just waiting to see how many people have 9 bucks they can absolutely think of no other way to burn.

EndreWhiteMane: Morning all, I was too busy butting in to other peoples business to say hello. :(
*hugs, waves and happy rained on plants*

Now, where's Agent? I want to keep picking on him till he isn't so grouchy. ;)
Hey Endre :)
Glad to hear that you're doing okay and you finally had some rain :)

If I hadn't reminded myself that people like vastly different genres, I was about to start listing all the good stuff you can get on GOG, in my opinion, for that amount of money or less...

Not sure on the 3DO. The only thing I've really seen on that is Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, and that's a whole other kind of goddamn awful.

Good possibility on that one.
It's a very odd art style to me. It isn't striking any of the beating a dead horse, nostalgia-milking bullshit notes.
More like, "What the hell were they doing?"

The Jaguar is what the video mentions, closer maybe.

-shakes head- That is baffling. The Jaguar was almost always seen as a joke system.
It's pretty much never mentioned unless someone's complaining about how they can't get one to work when they try to do videos of a Jaguar game, and it died a sad little death a long time ago.

It definitely is a weird choice.....amongst all the retro games that one seems stands out in terms of its art style. As long as the gameplay is at least decent i don't mind that art style though....

Jaguar?
Edit: Ah i see: Atari Jaguar....wasn't aware of that console...

You'll have to buy it at some point and tell everyone how it is. Maybe the graphics make for a bad first impression.

EndreWhiteMane: Atari Jaguar
Thanks. As i mentioned in my edit....i was completely unaware of that particular console...

That works. Not a huge fan here. Pretty sure my most played racing game was F-Zero.

Which proves a point.
I've been reading a bit. Apparently the console's hardware design was hopelessly outdated from the start. It was a powerful sprite processing machine for 2D gaming, in a time when 3D appeared as inevitable and inminent, with Starfox and Virtua Racing as its spearheads. Even worse, its 2D power came at the cost of complexity, which made programming even traditional 2D games rather tricky.

So basically, Atari's engineers shot themselves in both feet, then unloaded the rest of the bullets on their groins just for fun.
