akhliber: Hi from spaaaaace!

EndreWhiteMane: Geez, what a way to end a fun night. :/
Hope it is just bruised, if you get any more funny colors better have it looked at.
Ice that hand and be careful, we like your typing. :-)

akhliber: Thanks! I can't seem to have any sort of night, fun or not, without leaving my own special mark on it. Usually by way of embarrassing moment/s or personal injury. ;) Oddly, the color is still spreading under one of my nails, but is already seeming to settle back down everywhere else. Plus, I can feel all my hand-parts now, not just one particular knuckle, so I can actually do a bit of clickity-clack and what-not. I've actually been spending the better part of the evening going through my music collection and adding things to my portable audio player... It holds two microSD cards, and I'd had a 128gb and a 64gb in it forever, but finally got a second 128gb card, so I've been going through the enjoyably-lazy process of deciding what new music to add to it for carrying around while cleaning / on walks / out on the road / etc.
256gb is a whole lifetime of MP3s. What model player do you have?

CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

In the future, please use only the outer handle to shut the car door.
Hey there! For real. I think I was just kind of in sensory overload from the night. It was fun, but busy crowds and noise wear on me after a while and I forget how to function. ;) There is no possible way any part of my body *or* mind could have thought the door could have closed without my hand being a part of that beautiful process, haha. Tired piles on extra clumsy something quick.

I totally get the overload thing. It sucks really, really badly, even without the finisher of a smashed hand.

EndreWhiteMane: I love your little comments, sorta like "A glimpse into the real life of a chronic gamer". :-)

CarrionCrow: Glimpses of how a person can lose what sanity they have by way of video games? -laughs-
If you won't do streaming, you should at least run a blog.

I have been slowly-but-surely transitioning from MP3s to FLACs/lossless, and as a result they take up much more room (hence getting this particular player) but it still holds an absurd amount of music, especially now that I've maximized its current potential.

It's a FiiO X5, which I can't recommend highly enough, though I will say that mine is a "first generation" and I would really only recommend the 2nd gen model, unless you don't mind tinkering with firmware and dealing with minor bugs and such. I adore this one for what it is, but it was clearly their first attempt at such a player in a western market, and the default UI is a bit non-intuitive, some other minor things like that. But there's a great community over on the "head-fi-dot-org" forums that share custom firmwares with improved UIs and such.
The benefit of the 2nd gen model (which they released at the same price, so if you're new to the product, there's no reason not to get the newer one) is that they'd had the time to iron out a lot of these issues with the head-fi community, their customer base at large etc, and from what I've read it's just an all-around improvement.

It's really nice, as it not only allows for 256gb of storage currently, firmware updates should allow for more in the near future. The model I have originally only supported two 64gb cards, but they improved the firmware the be more compatible with newer cards. They play just about any format of audio file you can throw at them, which is quite nice. (http://fiio.net/en/fiio)

I just noticed they have an "X7" model out now, which if I recall, when testing the X5, we were told the X7 was going to be Android-based, so that may really appeal to some (not so much to me, I don't think.) But I haven't read up on it yet and only vaguely remember them mentioning it several months back, so the site's a better source of info than me. :)

It really does. Frustrating as hell. I really only know how to make light of it, but that's pretty much true of everything in life. But to step out of the smile-and-wave box for a moment, holy hell yes, it can suck. A lot worse than some throbby-fangers. ;)

Well, to be fair, the smashed hand problem is pretty serious also. Really glad you didn't up breaking at least a finger.
The other thing is its own flavor of miserable shit to contend with.
No sleep for 3 days, and 535 minutes to go.
Sounds like the perfect time for a game.

True.
I could go to bed whenever I wanted, wouldn't miss anything as all of it was a repeat.
Good morning, Fredians!

I wonder how comfy that desk is. My boss is not here today after all...

Oh, and hello omega!
