CarrionCrow: The game isn't really anything special. It's yet another "fuck you for not being psychic" title, which is pretty much the cheapest, lamest way of producing something that kinda sorta not really at all resembles a difficulty curve.
Certainly a game of the year then....

It's got problems, to be sure.
You don't often see platformers that have two distinct jump buttons, but this one does.
That is not a good sign. That makes me think that rather than putting in the time and effort needed to tweak the jumping mechanic properly, they settled on doing two separate kinds of jumps that you have no control over the power of.

In their defense, the game is SUPPOSED to be hair-tearingly hard.
If you like this, you should try 1,000 Spikes!

Well that's definitely unusual and somewhat odd....i don't see the purpose of two jump buttons....
It's a new unique mechanic and feature!

One causes a small jump that barely clears any obstacles, while the other is a much higher jump with a somewhat slow, floaty descent. Perfect for getting killed by projectiles in mid-air.

Additional - It's interesting having games that are avoided not because they're bad, but because they're so long.
I rented Disgaea, and I saw someone's review for it. It said they had something like 315 hours for that game.
That makes me nervous.

Good Evening! Just popped by before heading to sleep...

Humble has some nice games... But I've got my hands full for a year.
Still nice to see Salt and Sanctuary. That seems like it could be a totally awesome epic game. Hope the gameplay is on par with the style and attitude :)

Ah, Disgaea... Remember playing one of the series on PS2, I think, long time ago. That one at least had quite deranged humor. Crow, you might like it :) Also lots of unlockables and things to do.

They won't reply here I think until you do the secret handshake.

Good evening. =)

Looking forward to Salt and Sanctuary quite a bit. I first heard about it on a Maximilian stream, then I dug around in the upcoming stuff and saw that it was listed as "soon 2016", which made me start anticipating, thinking it'd be months before it showed, and now it's out.
Not renting it yet since one of the two people who made the game said the idea of it hitting GOG is "not off the table". So it could very well show up here sometime in the next month.

I've heard of that series for years, but never got a chance to play it at the time. Waited a bit for it to get some post-release bug removal done, then grabbed it.
Good evening, lovely people of Fred!

I hope you are all doing well this evening, or at least doing okay?

*hugs, waves, and handshakes*

Good evening. =)

Doing all right here. It's a quiet day, which I'm always in favor of.

How was your day?
