CarrionCrow: This is one of those times where distance sucks. I have a lot of experience moving people, and all I charge is some cigarettes, some soda and some pizza at some point during the process. ;)

I get what you mean now. But it also sounds like you feel positively about it overall. I'm very glad to see that. =)
Haha, thanks.

But (for the first time) we'll let some professionals handle the heavy lifting. It's just too much stuff, some huge wardrobes among them, and the distance is too great (~220 km). All the previous relocations we did with the help of friends and family, but that's simply not feasible any more.

And all the stress and the amount of work aside, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm looking at my deceased friend's door every time I leave the house, I'm not too happy with my current job (work is fine, but the circumstances...). And of course for my wife it's good to spend the last months near her father and also being able be there to comfort her mother.

akhliber: Glad to hear you'll be able to be closer to family, but moving is just no fun. I hope you the process goes well for you and that you'll get a break from at least some of the stress once you're moved into the new place.
Yeah I hate moving. But hopefully this will be the last time for years to come.

EndreWhiteMane: Hopefully at the end of it all life will be a little sweeter, the country can do that.
Once again all I can offer is my best wishes to you and your family and an open invitation to my chat.
*hang in there hugs*
I know the region, it has really some beautiful places there. Also I'm looking forward to just leaving the house and having a walk through fields, meadows and wood whenever I feel like it.
The front page with no big picture of Geralt on it. How refreshing. :-)

EndreWhiteMane: Morning folks.
Good morning. =)

How're you doing today?

akhliber:
It's good to know you have a doctor who not only cares, but is actively trying new things, new ways to approach the problem.
So many doctors are lazy, content to give the bare minimum of treatment, be utterly indifferent and get paid.

Didn't anyone tell you? June is going to be Witcher month. 30 days of Geralt's face taking up the entire front page...

I can see why you're going with pros. That sounds like it'd be a total nightmare to attempt on your own.

Multiple positives to it...good. You deserve more positives, and a whole lot less insane bullshit.

Not too bad today, drinking coffee and figuring out my plan to teach 30 kids this summer. :-)

You are a brave, brave man to do such things.
Or...apologies for the technical terms...you might be out of your frigging gourd. ;P

The latter is a given, the former remains to be seen. :-)
Hello, thread!

*hugs and waves* How's your day?

Good evenoon, Yezzy *big hug*

It's going alright here. Trying to decide on a game to chill out with for a while. Can't decide between playing more of the adorable and friendly Stardew Valley, or Painkiller Black, which I know nothing about but assume is equally adorable and friendly :-)

How're things on your end?

Good evenoon yourself, Agent!

I can't imagine a game called Painkiller Black being anything but adorable and friendly. *silly hug*

Things on my end are great. Though I'm probably eating far too much chocolate.

Never played Stardew Valley. But regarding Painkiller: It's nice enough and bosses are impressively huge. Kind of in the veins of Serious Sam - lots of mass battles. In the end it failed to grab my attention for very long somehow. I don't really know why - the flow simply didn't click with me.
Hell, I really can't decide what to play next. I'm still in an RPG mood.

I've tried Heretic Kindoms: The Inquistion, Inquisitor and Shadowrun Returns. Other options would be Neverwinter Nights, where I still have to play the 2 add-ons which are supposedly better than the OC (and this would open up the option of NWN2). Or Icewind Dale, which has been on the todo list for ages. Or the original Wasteland. Or Legend of Grimrock...

A bit friendlier than Stardew's fishing, at least.

A very familiar delicious problem. Just be sure to balance it out with healthy food. One pea for each bar of chocolate should be good :-)

Yeah, I definitely get the Serious Sam vibe. I'm liking it so far, after finishing the first level. The first boss went down fairly quickly. Wondering if I should up the difficulty before going any further, or keep it at normal "insomnia" difficulty. edit: Apparently the next difficult is locked for now, so I don't have a choice. That's stupid :-p

The only one I've played out of that lot is Shadowrun Returns, and I was a big fan of it. Which is saying a bit, because I don't normally like RPGs that much, especially turn-based and isometric ones. I loved it, and loved Dragonfall even more (and plan to start Hong Kong soon.)

From the ones I tried I also liked this one the most. Also, the cyberpunk setting is sufficiently different from Witcher 3 which I finished last night. It would be unfair to play something too similar to that outstanding one right after. So very different setting and turn based combat are definitely a plus.

Sounds like a good contrast. The setting is why I fell in love with Shadowrun. Dystopian cyberpunk Seattle is the same setting as my favourite TV show, Dark Angel :-p

As does Bioshock 2.
