No need to be sorry for real life stuff.

I am glad to hear you are doing fine, but sorry to hear things are a bit of a struggle. I hope things will start to improve for you soon.
Thanks for the words of support. It feels good. :-)

superstande: Good Morning, Leo!
Long time no see!
...you've probably been around but I tend to miss a lot :)

Also Good Mornings! ..to Crow & Endre .. the All-American Hero-Warriors! :)
(and... it's almost time to head for a night gig... will be back to check out the next bundle)
Hello! Long time indeed.
I probably miss way more than you. :-)
I've not been around. Not as much as I used to be.
*hugs everyone*

CarrionCrow: I think so. 11 more would put the last one coming out at midnight of the 30th. From there it'd be a full day for people to get a last chance to grab stuff.

If I get it, I'll get the whole thing since it's all one series, from what I've read. So at least I'd get the 25.
But, at the same time, I still want Bloodlines, despite it being more expensive right now.

Your outlook is admirable, D. =)
Well hopefully you can make a good dent on your wishlist if some decent bundles appear.

It is interesting how they charge so much for Bloodlines given the age of the game and the fact that the game itself is a broken mess that requires modding to be playable. But it seems that many publishers are increasing the prices for older games now.

Thank you. I have enough on as it is to ruin things more by letting things get to me too much. Plus my partner comes home in the early hours of Friday so I that to look forward to, so I find it hard to be too down about things. :-)

FearfulSymmetry: Whew, almost done with the introduction to my thesis. Just a small section to finish up and then I'll have some time to myself. :)

How are you all doing today?
*big congratulations hug*

Glad to hear things are going good for you and your thesis. Hopefully you can get the small section you are working on done and have some time to yourself.

I am doing good, thank you. Missing my partner, but she will be home soon, which is good.

How are you?

Yep, I'm done now! I've been working on this chapter pretty much non-stop for the past three days, so I'm really glad it's finished now. Fingers crossed my supervisor thinks it's OK.

When does your partner come home? And good to hear you're doing all right. :)

I'm fine! The usual minor complaints of tiredness and such, but things are going all right on the whole.

Odds are against me on that one. But I'll figure out a way to make use of the bundles regardless.

Bloodlines is a bit of a unique case, at least for me. Everything you said is totally valid, but I still really, really enjoy it.
The setting, the characters, the music, the atmosphere, pretty much everything aside from the stealth (which I loathe with a burning unholy passion, to the point that I tend to veer towards clans that have invisibility powers) is enjoyable.
Also, with the variety of characters you can make, there's more than enough replayability to get past my usual requirement of no more than 1 dollar per hour of entertainment.

That's cool. Less than two days to go, hang in there. =)

She comes at the early hours of Friday morning. I am planning something nice for when she gets home as a surprise, which I am looking forward to.

I am glad to hear you are doing fine, but I hope those usual complaints will start to leave you alone for a while so you can enjoy yourself more.

Are you enjoying the sale, have you seen anything that catches your eye?

Haha, good idea. :P There's already one chapter I need to revise, I really don't want to add to that.

That sounds nice, I hope you have a great day together. :)

I'm afraid the exhaustion probably won't go away for a while yet ... too much to do in the coming two months. I'm really looking forward to the summer holiday. :P

Nope, still nothing. Aside from my interest in Bloodlines (which I won't purchase until the price drops, since I already own it elsewhere) there's not really been anything to catch my eye. How about you? Have you made a purchase yet?

*enormous hug*

Well you never know with GOG, I am hoping there are some good bundles for you all.

It is definitely a highly praised game, which is why I assume they are charging so much because they know they can. Maybe it will appear during the promo on sale, but it is hard to tell with Activision.

I am doing fine. We spent much of our early relationship apart due to us going to separate universities, so it is not a big problem. But I do sill miss her when she is aways, and probably more so at the moment with everything going on and that has been going on. But at least we have a long weekend to look forward to to make up for the week.

I gathered all the exhaustion and things would not go away anytime soon, not with everything you have going on. But hopefully it won't be too hard on you. There is little we can actually do, but we are here for you if you ever need any support or to vent about anything. My chat is always open for you. *ginormous hug*

I think that is the attitude many people are taking with the game. I have never played it, but I hear it is a good game.

I have bought a few gifts, but nothing for myself. So far nothing from my wishlist has turned up with a good discount. There are one or two games that I am a little interested in, but not enough to get them at the moment. :-)

True. It's not a bad sale, I just have a ton of stuff already. Wishing the bundles would show up faster, that's about it.

I don't think it's going to show up on sale this time around. Everyone who bought it at retail would be angry about that, it'd be a huge mess for GOG to deal with.

Yes, I'm sure that's why they keep selling it at 20. It's very much a cult classic, a game where the quality of the ideas outweigh all the crap involved with its creation.
I'm going to buy it at retail as a gesture of thanks to GOG and Wesp5's team, the people who've spent years and years updating it, cleaning up all the bugs, working to restore it to what it should have been if the developers hadn't been strong-armed into putting it out before it was ready. (Also, I really want to have a DRM-free copy of it for my collection.)

It's good that you're more used to the long distance thing, but it still sucks. -laughs-
I hope you and she (or is it you and her...not sure on that one) have a really good weekend when she gets back. =)

That is the problem with most sales, we already have the usual games that appear during sales.

I never thought of that, I guess they would be quite mad. Maybe during the next sale then.

So you are saying I should actually look into the game and see about getting it sometime? Also, is the GOG version modded to at least be enjoyable, or would it need more mods to make the game fun?

Well that was only for the first few years, after that we have been pretty much inseparable, so being apart is still a little annoying. But it is not like it is a big issue, it is not like we are children. :-)
Thank you. I would go for "you and her" over "you and she", but both seem to work okay and don't effect the kind message.
Good mevenoon Crow, Endre, Pimp, Leo, Fearful, and anyone else who arrived after my morning chat burn-out :-p

That's it. GOG can't really keep up when you can buy over 50 games at a time during a single sale without much difficulty.

I figure it'll start getting drops during whatever autumn sale GOG does at the soonest, possibly not until the winter sale.

That's up to you. I know that I like it a lot, so buying it isn't a problem.
The GOG version comes with bug fixes, but no mods that add on extra content. You can add that yourself later on if you want.

Well, at least it's not messing with you too much. =) Sounds like (big surprise) you've got it all handled.

Yeah...you and her does sound better. Would go back and change it, but that's not really feasible when it's been actively discussed. Will remember for next time.

I meant burnt out from the thread. The mornings usually start out okay, but after a few hours, there are too many conversations to follow on here, and it gets intense ,',',):-|
