moonshineshadow: Well of course it got rejected, it is just so good that gog can't risk people buying it or they'd never again play anything else ;-)

ElTerprise: It's that good? Wow...that's a game i won't risk playing then ;)
Good choice *laughing hug*

ddickinson: Is Gothic 4 the best game in the series?
It would not have been a bad game, if it had come out just as an RPG seperate from the Gothic universe. But calling that game Gothic 4 is just an insult to the series and makes it a really bad game since it tries to be something that it isn't.

ddickinson: I don't know how things work in Germany, but killing people is generally considered to be quite violent. :-)
Well you know...the german rating doesn't mention violence or sex (because unlike the PEGI etc... the USK rating never mentions the reason for the rating) ....but even then it's not overly violent so the game should be fine :)

Yes. Won't risk my ability to play other games just by playing that game *big laughing return hug* :D

Ah, one of those kind of games. That is a shame, especially as I know you really like Gothic.

i guess those are just common things in Germany then. :-)
I kind of guessed that most of the violence was nothing big, and maybe even comical given the style of the game. But I did notice that you did not deny all the sex in the game. :-)

Well the violence is definitely rather comical - there was no sex (aside from sex = gender) in the game so far...and i doubt there will be any aside from innuendos or something along those lines :) *big return hug*

I think it means sex as in sexual references and innuendos. A bit like on the Larry games. Or it is an error and will be fixed soon. Or maybe you will unlock the sex part later in the game. Or maybe that is being kept for the DLC. :-)

What did you think of the other new release, the one that is inspired by FTL?

That's what i'm also thinking...would make sense i guess :)
And i just exactly remember a screenshot from the game which fits the description...also the main male character is called Dick Starspeed ;)

It looks interesting but i think i want to learn a bit more about it before i'm going to buy it :)
But 8-Bit Armies is going to be released tomorrow (well today now) and i really want to play that too because of the C&C vibe to it :D

The game never looked the type to have anything other than references and innuendos in it. I guess they have to put warnings on to be on the safe side.

A game with a C&C vibe sounds nice. You will have to let us know what you think of the game when it is released.

Well I had better be getting some sleep. Have a nice rest of the day, lovely ELT. Take care.

*big goodnight hug*

Probably :)

Will do - good thing that it's actually developed by former Westwood members :)

I wish you a good night and sleep well *big goodnight return hug* :)

Think I'll do the same now. I wish you all a good night and see you later *big goodnight hugs and waves* :)

ddickinson: Words...
Just a quick note, if you like Gothic's overall atmosphere and writing and universe etc but find the actual gameplay/graphics/etc to be too dated, give Risen a look. Risen was made by Piranha Bytes, the creators of the original Gothic series (Gothic, Gothic 2, Gothic 3*). It has the same overall feel, VERY similar lore and universe, the same mechanics and all that, a few things like alchemy plants look nearly identical and have the same exact uses. It's like the Gothics, just in a modern shell. Or to put it bluntly, Risen is a tried and true Gothic game, only missing the name and the rights to the universe.

*They only developed Gothic 3, not its Expansion Pack entitled Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods.

Wait, that wasn't a quick note at all...
