If you don't notice from playing the older games, then playing the steaming abortion they slapped the title onto, that might be the case.
I, on the other hand, get reminded that the braindead psychotic motherfuckers turned a quality turn-based strategy series into a fifth-rate action game, complete with absolutely horrendous third-person action sequences.

I'm just messin' with ya, really. I dunno a darn thing about the series. Puzzles and platformers are my genre, I don't usually go for the FPSs and whatnot.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever even played a Square Enix game at all.

I am pretty sure that Front Mission Evolved is one of the worst games I've played in a long while.

It is such a clusterfuck of a game that in between my screaming, I am sitting here wondering if the people involved were all high as kites on crack for the duration of the development cycle.

Every single goddamn thing in that game was bad.

The gameplay, bad, broken and generally screwed. The music, bad. The voice acting, fucking pathetic. The story, ridiculous. The characters, miserably generic and devoid of anything approaching real personalities.

That is the worst game I've played with a Square Enix logo on it since Final Fantasy 13.

Even the cutscenes, which are pretty much the only thing Square Enix manages to get right consistently, even when they're in absolutely rancid piles of goat shit masquerading as games, were boring.
But was it fun? :-)

sounds like they are riding on the fame ticket there with dollar signs in their eyes and not much between ears...
I remember playing perhaps the first Front Mission, that was quite good. Have you played any of the first ones?
I think the first FM was released for playstation (PSX)... Not sure if there are any (decent) PC conversions. Unless you use an emulator.
