CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

The sequel can wait a bit. I think it's supposed to be longer than the original. I've got other stuff to beat first.
Well it's not out yet so you have at least the time until the release ;)

And what's your opinion of the game after you've finished it?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: The website says little more about it except that it seems to be a mash-up between a choose your own adventure and an RPG. It interests me enough it just may be my second early access title.
Hey Endre :)
Didn't even noticed the "Choose-your-own-adventure" part....another reason to know the book :)
What's your first Early access game?

ElTerprise: Yup...couldn't resist and that one was an easy one ;)

Well that's true for most of the InDev games. So far only the PC-melting game has been finished although Starbound is apparently getting close to be finished. I hope that Kim won't be in development for years - that would be unfortunate but i wouldn't mind a few months because that would give me the time to read Kim ;)
I wonder if GOG asks for a time frame when they accept the games, or if they just allow them on regardless? It has been a long time since I last read Kim, I think the last of his works I read were some of his collected poetry.

CarrionCrow: I think it didn't have to be that long. The pacing's way too slow sometimes, it's got too much redundant dialogue padding, but I still think it was worth buying and playing to the end. I liked the story, the music, the art style.
I am glad to hear you liked it, despite the bad points. What will you be playing next?

Good evening, lovely Mr Endre!

Are you feeling any better?

Curious Expedition but I don't think I noticed it was EA at the time.
BTW: KIM's website has 3 links for KIM, all of which go you know where. If I was GOG I'd be truly pissed.

Not yet but I just got back from the pharmacy with a prescription refill, hopefully it will help some.

Well i hope so - GOG's talking about a curated InDev programme and my understanding was that they not only "handpick" the games in general but also only pick them which have a working development with an idea of a release date.

I'm interested in that one as well - have you played it already?
Oh great - but that's not the only game guilty of that....

No it's not the only one by any means, out of several new ones I checked only 1 had GOG on their website!
Curious Expedition I consider kind of silly fun, I like it a lot.

That is true. I am not sure I really like the top down view of the new game, for some reason it reminds me of a mobile game. But that is just me, I am sure GOG knows that there will be a big demand for it here.

I think it was worth the time and money. I got 34 hours of gaming for a 24 dollar purchase, so it beat the dollar per hour minimum.

Overall, it was a bit of a strange experience. Some of it felt so frigging boring to slog through, but even then, it kept my interest enough to keep going through it.

Not 100 percent sure yet, but I think it'll be Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Realms of the Haunting, Day of the Tentacle, then settling in to play Pillars of Eternity for days and days and days...
(Will spare you my full current list...-laughs-)

AI see, I have not played any of those games mentioned. I think the only one of those I own is Realms of the Haunting. But I do hope you pick a nice game that you will enjoy. Fearful really liked Pillars, and many seem to hold it in high regard.

It's kinda sad to see this but i guess they prefer the big player on their sites....
That's sounds pretty good...thanks :)

I know what you mean - the perspective is really weird - i'm not sure if a isometric perspective might've been better.....time will tell :)

Better than my time/money ratio on Firewatch - which still was really worth it though :)
34 hours out of that game doesn't sound bad at all :)

Interesting. So basically the sum of all pieces made it an enjoayable game despite some less-than-stellar parts.....
But i guess it's still a game for those who like visual novels because from looking at the screenshots or video footage i cannot see me playing that game...

Just finished Firewatch in one 3:30 hour sitting.
It was great. I wonder why some people were disappointed with the ending.

I think isometric would have been a lot better, the current view just takes away so much detail. But maybe that was their goal, to limit the effort needed for the design of the game?

Because it is just silly. I mean as if he is your father, and what was with your sister kissing you despite her later saying she knew she was your sister? That is some creepy stuff right there. :-)

But on a serious note, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.

I think I missed that part of the game. :P
I guess that makes sense.

I wonder why I'm satisfied with it considering it cost me 18 bucks.
It just left this warm feeling inside of me.
Though that might've been the forest fire. ;P

Realms is one I've been putting off for way too long. Besides just that, my favorite Let's Player actually started doing a full run of the game, so I want to beat it. Then I can watch the video series without ruining the game for myself.

Yeah, Pillars will be fine, I'm sure. It's just going to take a long time to beat.

You were faster than me :D
I don't understand that either. It was a perfectly fitting ending. Was a great game from the start to the end.

Yes. That might be a reason. Either due to lack of experience or lack of money....
