j0ekerr: Actually that's kind of expected.
:-P Bleah.

Empress_Owl: I'm currently playing the BG I EE and I really enjoy it... i couldn't compare with the original version, but the EE is worth it at this price, I think :-)
**big hug back**
Hurm...
Obvious conspiracy to dupe people into buying what is not needed. Probably communist, possibly homosexual too.
Current state of mind.

Stilton: ...
A toast with mead and mutton, and beef, and pork, and goat, and antilope, and fruit bat, and and every other meat in the table to honour the parting of one worthy viking. His saga will be told for many a winter night to inspire others with courage and honour and the proper way to do limmericks.

ddickinson: ...
I'll be preaching to the choir I know, but allow me to pontificate a bit (that came out very catholic).
The open door policy is a known gateway for scammers and lazy hacks who post barely functioning demos cobbled together from stolen assets and pretend those are actual games on greenlight, then abandon them and just wait for the money to trickle down.
People without integrity or professionalism who then attempt to sue critics for 10 million dollars, because they said mean things about them.

I'd much rather have a walled but beautiful garden with a bouncer on the door than an open access cesspool where drunk bums throw up all over the benches.

EndreWhiteMane: But is it good? Sure seems popular.
It is, but mostly as a meme source.
I played it a bit, it's not bad per se, Just incredibly average. A victim of its own hype.
From the grandaddy of FPS games, people expected a lot more.

moonshineshadow: What are you going to do if I say I don't like cats? :P
*laughing hug*
I would say, good taste.
They make good peking duck though.

ddickinson: I fancied trying that game, but sadly my graphics card VRAM is not quite up to the 1GB recommendation. But nice to see it here, even if yet again they do the usual thing of making as many sales as possible on Steam and then come to GOG as an after thought. I guess they will think of it as trying to prevent piracy over the initial release, but that has never stopped people pirating Steam games.
Hurm, I have a theory about that the whole ludicrous VRAM requirements from recent games that don't show that much graphical prowress.
It might be related to the higher than high-definitions and the rahter large texture files necessary to make them look good at said resolutions.
Somebody who actually knows what he's talking about should confirm or discredit my theory though.

Good to hear you're enjoying it! I think it's worth this price too, in fact I already paid more for it on Steam. :P The only question is whether to buy it again so I can own it DRM-free as well. :) Suppose I might as well considering it's really quite cheap and I still have some store credit.

Hm, maybe I'll get started on Baldur's Gate as well as soon as I finish my Pillars of Eternity playthrough ...

*huge hug* :)

CarrionCrow: I would suggest just in general to at least try the originals first before going in to the EE versions.
There are less options, but if you're new to the games that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Yeah, about that...
I was wondering if they were the exact same games, just with upgraded graphics, or if there were any relevant gameplay mechanic differences, like changing the rule system from 3rd edition to 4th.
Wait aren't they already on 5th?

Yes, if you already have it on Steam, it's not as tempting... but as you said : DRM-free ! \o/ hihi
How is Pillars of Eternity ?... do you think you're close to the end ? :-)

Hahaha, yep! :P

It's awesome! Right now I'm in act three, but I was so engrossed in the game that I didn't want things to end and purchased the expansions as well ... I'm halfway through the second part of the expansion now, and then it's back to the main game. :P Even just typing this is making me itch to go back to playing it, but I have to do some more work on my dissertation first.

Let's get our work done together... >:-|
Then we will be free to enjoy a well deserved and restful end of weekend ! :-)
Morning all, just injecting a bit of caffeine into my system so I can wake up enough to get ready for work.
Glad to see everyone is doing OK today, way to go! :-)
*hugs, waves, coffee IV*

o.O
good aftermornings, also heading to work for a bit tonight.
still in cheerful spirits - having fun playing games and watching movies and stuff.
Tangerine is a film that I'll be checking out later - seemed like a really laid-back thing.

*mango & white chocolate ice-cream to everyone on the stand*

git it while it's ... non-melted!
