MY LAPTOP WAS RENDERED USELESS BY MICROSOFT WINDOWS 10 FORCED UPDATE. All my data was unrecoverable and lost my gog.account as well as my purchase. I recently was able to get back on line only to find out that
gog.com had no record of my previous purchase.

You should have letter with your order in your email connected with gog. If money was paid and game wasn't added to your profile - ask support if they can help.

Your lucky I had 10 to 15 years of SAVE GAMES WIPED OUT with that Forced update way back when I was like 31 these were advanced level saves that took me up to ten years to get to, Games saves like save #144 in ELDERSCROLLS 5 skyrim which I bought the game when it first came out and got up to legendary status and other games where I was at advanced levels only to have them erased in a heartbeat thanks to microshots Forced Ripoff update. 10 to 15 years of HARD WORK all my old saves erased I am still 3 years on FUMING about it!

Yeah right. A windows update deleted your GOG account. It's just like that one time the power went out in my flat and wiped my entire bank account.
WHAT!!!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....ooooooooooo....... *splash*
Is this one of those situations where you did the end user thing of keeping your password in a sticky note instead of your mind or a password keeper?

But thankfully you did what all computer users do and reload things from your backup drives, didn't you. Rather than just jump onto a random website and start shouting at the users. Win10 cannot erase your gog account, the gog account is not on your machine, sure it might affect the data on your system, and you have a right to complain to windows, is this the windows forum... as for your gog account, foto the signin on the main website page, put your password in and voila, there is your gog account. Maybe also pop over to amazon and get a back up external drive or two as well.

GOG has serious issues with the two-factor login authentication. I was traveling in January, when I wanted to take advantage of a sale. I haven't logged into GOG from my laptop previously, so I had to wait for the login code. Throughout the week I tied to log in, I never got the code promptly enough to log in. After I returned home, I went on my desktop and disabled the two-factor authentication, so that in the future I can log in from other devices. So, if he was logged into the site only from the one computer and had two-factor authentication turned on, there's a chance he really lost his access.

I did that as myself. My WinXP computer finally died two years ago, and I had to switch to Win 8.1. Took me another week to tweak everything to look like WinXP Classic again. Since then, I had to start using Win10 at work, and I'm very unhappy with it - even after all tweaking it acts too differently to be comfortable with it. As a result, I disabled all automatic updates to my Win 8.1 computer, so that it doesn't experience a forced switch. Which is why I am pretty good at backing up my system, and my restore disks are always ready :)
Activate Updater Disabler after Windows installation and you will be good to go.

You can also go into services.msc and disable Windows Update and the module one (I forget the name).

He would, but he forgot to mention that the gremlins that ate his data also stole his Amazon account.

By the way, you want to be over here:

https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I would strongly suggest giving specifics like receipt numbers if you have them.

Good luck

Top Men™ are hard at work recovering your baby.It will happen soon™ ;).Cheers
If you have your emailed purchase receipts, that might be the easiest way to verify your purchases.

As an aside, for this reason I prefer IMAP over POP3 when using an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird. So long as you have the mailbox space, you'll still have your old mails (and, presumably, the receipts from gOg) on the provider's server - unless you deleted them yourself.
