A roguelite FPS sounds like your cup of tea? Excellent, because Soulslinger: Envoy of Death is coming soon on GOG!

You are a gunslinger in limbo, involved in a gritty war against "The Cartel", a ruthless organization harvesting souls to break free of the shackles of the afterlife. Grow stronger with each new run, gather the essence of lost souls to take on the biggest threats.

Wishlist it now!
This reminds me of Clive Barker's Undying a little bit, except that Undying was story-focus and I'm not certain if Soulslinger will be.

My first thought went to "Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD".

Rogue-lite generally means a very simplistic story that just serves as a means to justify the constant re-runs. So I doubt it.

But the gameplay is much more important in these cases.

Aesthetically it looks amazing from the screenshots.

"Random sequences of rooms" sounds horrible though. They should have hand-crafted the whole entire game IMO, that would have been much better.

Except no, you are wrong, as usual. Ziggurat/Ziggurat 2 and Immortal Redneck are very fun, and would not work if they were entirely handcrafted. If you do that then you just have a repeat of Serious Sam. The only thing with games like this (and 2D ones like Rogue Legacy) is that the prefab room variety never ends up being quite enough.
There is a demo on steam which I had tried some time ago. It was ok, not great because you could carry only one weapon at a time and I died too often to have fun.
I would be more interested in Witchfire which is sadly an Epic exclusive at the moment.

A repeat of Serious Sam sounds way better than a repeat of Ziggurat. And I'm not even really a fan of Sam, but at least that game had memorable moments. Ziggurat was a FPS equivalent of killing time with solitaire.
A couple of screengrabs there looked kinda familiar but it was Witchfire i was thinking about.

This one looks real nice though, keeping an eye on it.

Ziggurat was indeed mid. I played it exactly once, made it to the final boss on the first run, we killed each other at the same time, the game gave me a win, I took it, uninstalled and never played again. Total playtime like 2 hours or less. Not bad for having finished the game :P

Immortal Redneck was actually pretty fun though. That being said, I also really hope Croteam will get back on Sam as their next project now that Talos Principle 2 is done.

Nah, Ziggurat 2 is better but the first is still decent. I'd like to see all the levels be entirely procedurally generated instead of the "stick a bunch of pre-made rooms together" thing, though that would require some real R&D with procgen to get acceptable results...Strafe tried but it didn't entirely work.
