Engineering a productive future.

Rise of Industry is coming soon to Games in Development, DRM-free on GOG.com.
There is no force in the universe more interested in pushing the world forward than the industrialist. In this upcoming tycoon game you become that force. Raising factories, setting up trade routes, researching new technologies or arranging transport for your raw materials is how you will expand your early 20th-century empire in this unpredictable, procedurally-generated world.

mqstout: I recognized the "Dapper Penguin" and was trying to remember where I saw it. This was formerly known as "Project Automata" when it was in its earlier stages, I believe.
Ah, a scholar :)

Yes, the game was called Project Automata before making it public. I think the new name is a bit more fitting and easier to pronounce.

To address some concerns: there is a dynamic economy and town growth, and the main influences are indeed Industry Giant and Capitalism, plus Anno and Factorio. Artstyle is closer to SimCity 2k-3k. OTTD... not too much.

Check all that we have planned for the game: https://trello.com/b/t94R4mdV/public-roadmap

Yes, at one point a couple years ago, I used to get your emails (eventually opted out). I forgot where I had found you then!

Maybe Reddit? I used to use it very often back then
This looks very interesting - and yay for Linux support right out of the gate! Wishlisted!
Looks interesting, wishlisted
Maybe, if this is unique enough to other similar games, worth watching anyway.
Looks interesting! I'll support it because of the Linux support; kudos to Dev/Publisher for walking the walk.

We don't want to be one in many. Too many games of the same genre, so we try to add a lot of new and unseen features, all in a fun and engaging package. Take a look at all we have in mind, I bet you won't find anything like it: https://trello.com/b/t94R4mdV/public-roadmap

Wasn't easy, but it's important to not forget that there's more than just Windows users. Working on Mac support as well!

May I ask when the expected release date is? And how much will the release price be?

Plus I would recommend you to contact gog to get the yellow forum colour reserved for developers if you want to use it.

Also thank you for the Linux version!

Vythonaut: ... What trees? :D
The pointy green things. Don't you see them in the first screenshots?

amund: ... How do you finish SimCity 4? The game doesn't have an ending.
Agreed. I finish it by reaching my self-defined goals or until I don't want anymore.

avatar
Sarxis: ... I'm still working on SimCity 2000! (not kidding)
Thankfully I finished this already in the 90s. Definition of finished as given above.

It's definitely better and while thinking about it I realize it's actually not that simple to find a good name for an economy simulation.

It is! We changed the game's name to something a bit easier to remember
Could be great, will follow the progress.
