It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm curious if anyone else is having this weird issue i keep getting: since GOG is so script heavy, sometimes a page is loaded enough to view, but not all of the user control panel is loaded (or maybe some other scripts). Sometimes, i'll see a topic i want to read, and since i don't care about that bar right now, i decide to click it. Upon doing so, however, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I end up going to completely different topic. I use a touchpad, but i believe it also happens when i use a mouse. And I've only had this issue with the gog forums, not any other websites. Is gog just too script heavy and it's breaking my out of date firefox (since upgrading it would make it unusable, as it barely functions as it is) or is this GOG itself?

I believe a similar issue affected voting machines, causing people's votes to be changed when they tried to submit their vote.

I have had this issue on GOG using Chromium, though my version isn't up-to-date either.

In other words, it isn't just you or GOG; it's a rather serious problem with the World Wide Web and web browsers in general. Situations like this are why I consider allowing client-side scripts (most commonly JavaScript) on web pages to be a mistake.

Edit: Why was this post "low rated"?

I get it regularly. Only thing to avoid it is to wait until it all loads all the way
Yes, been encountering this since a couple of days back.
I've had this for a long time on the phone. The topic links will load but there is something on the page above the topics that still hasn't loaded. So I click the topic link but it takes me to the topic above the one it looked like I clicked. I'm finally learning to wait for the page load progress bar to finish.

I don't have the same problem on the laptop, maybe because of caching?

websites do seem to abuse clientside scripting, and gog is no exception. Yet does not gog pretty much require it?

That's interesting. I'm curious what the discernible difference could be.

The difference between my phone and laptop results, you mean?
On my android smartphone, there's a little lag when loading the forum. Which means that right when I decide to tap one line, a little bunch more is loaded and shifts the whole view one or two lines away. My registered "click" ends up opening the wrong thread. It's frustrating. But I don't expect the site to be optimised for smartphones anyway, and I never get that issue on a computer.

So, maybe it's related.

Ah, that would be it. I assumed it was laptop vs desktop. For some reason i missed the word "phone." I'm guessing then it's CPU bottleneck. My CPU is particularly weak, so games like skyrim run fine, but terraria is no-go.

I don't see any shifting, but that doesn't surprise me. Firefox could be half-displaying the page, but when the click happens it waits until the script is loaded then registers the click after the move: i would never see the shift.

My phone gets the shift that Telika describes. I think it's not loading that top bar right away, whereas the laptop has that stuff cached. My guess. It certainly isn't that I have a blazing connection speed for the laptop, and on the phone it appears to not make a difference if I use my slow 'net / wifi connection or faster LTE.

Yeah, CPU load. Means GOG needs to tone it down, but i doubt that'll happen.
