The company renowned for superb strategic series such as Close Combat or Strategic Command Classic: WWII celebrates its birthday this week. That’s why we’ve decided to add our candle to this cake and surprise you with a Special Sale, featuring selected Slitherine games with discounts reaching up to 65%.

Since birthday discounts should be unique, we enhanced this Special Sale with a bundle mechanic. If you buy at least 3 games presented on the list, the discount will rise by 15% per game. In the case when you acquire 5 games or more the base discount on every game will rise by 25% per game. This way discounts on individual games can reach up to 90% off!

We also invite you to check the Fantasy General II: Prologue, which is a free procedurally generated campaign giving you a taste of what the full game has to offer. Select one of three Heroes and embark on a quest that will unveil a dark secret.

Take part in Slitherine’s 20th birthday sale before it ends on 6th July, 1 PM UTC.
Sorry to say but this is literally one of the worst 20th anniversary sales i have ever seen. Bad discounts, bad selection and...

Strategic Command series is an easily overlooked one and I can fully recommend it (think Hearts of Iron but more realism and simpler but actually working game rules - great for historically minded).
Don't know if it's a bug or not, but if one has already previously purchased games from the bundle, the recent Close Combat titles get a 90% discount, which is kinda nice.

It's not a bug - the games you own count towards the additional discounts :)

Stilll waiting for Pride of Nations, The operational art of war IV, Revolution Under Siege Gold, To End all Wars + expansion, Alea Jacta Est and expansions, Espana 1936, Rise of Prussia gold, Advanced Tactics gold, Legion gold, Chariots of war.

Sale is a disappointment. Almost no Slitherine titles on sale.
I selected more than five games and the total came to the price listed. The bundle mechanic does not seem to function. Am I mssing something?

It works for me. Note that it also includes any games you already own.

Do you already have 5 games from the list? If so, the full bonus discount is already applied.

Thanks for the clarification. This is not the most direct or common sense reading of the statement issued. I will reduce my order accordingly.

ChrisGamer300: Bad discounts
Really?! Select enough games and the price comes down a lot to a very low level.

Still not enough for some and those are the least interesting games of the bunch for me so i'm not going to pay 10$ for these, back to waiting.

Weall, aside from the obvious paradox comparisons, it’s pretty meh. What about all the games not on here? Drums of war?
Also, what about complete editions? I am not interested in looking through page after page of dressy up dlc, just sell a FCKing product and be done with it!
Great sale, I bought 5 Close Combat games 90% off
Any recommendation about the Close Combat series, old and new?

From various reviews it seems like:
- CC2,CC3 are what most people played and liked.
- CC5 is ok, but maybe less people played it.
- CC recent remakes still have dated graphics, mechanics and bad AI.
- CC1,CC4 aren't that great.

EDIT: I'll probably grab 3 and 5 (+mods). ¯\_(O_o)_/¯

EDIT2: a good post about the series, right here on Gog
