I guess I'll look how the game turns out (I would've waited anyway since there are other parts I'm worried about like the driving), if it's just the gender selection and you can still play as a man or Woman it's nothing I's be bothered by, though I have to admit I'm worried if there are any other (deeper) changes in the game which would become annoying very fast even if you agree with the general idea.

You're missing the point. It's not the game that is important to people like OP, it's the fanatical bloodletting. It's entirely incidental to them what game or movie happens to be the excuse this time, what's important is another opportunity to prove their allegiance to the outraged mob of their choosing.

Both sides of the mobs are just as bad as each other. I'm honestly stunned that in the age of communication people just like to shout at each other, then go after people.

This 100%...there are proper channels on can use to show devs what one dislikes in terms of game features/company direction & the like, etc. Writing it in public online is usually just a call for attention.....though I will also play devil's advocate a bit and say sometimes it is fine if done sparingly and civilly.

As a few know, I have a personal relationship to the topic and would love to go deep into this, but from past experience GOG is not a place where you can seriously discuss these issues without them descending in anger, name-calling, and chaos. I'll simply say this...

I hate rampant claims of victimization (you'd think CDPR had demanded the OP become transgender!), and in the sphere of gaming...

... if you desperately don't believe in a game's messaging, don't buy it. It's that simple.

I grew up on a farm and my mother and father always set a place at the table for guests. They didn't always agree with them. They didn't have the exact same belief systems or religions. Heck, once we invited Mormons (who had come to our door) to dinner! It wasn't about agreeing. (Also, we weren't afraid of becoming Mormon!) It was about compassion, respect, and hoping for the same should we one day find ourselves on someone else's doorstep.

As a storyteller, I too am worried about story being warped by political ideologies into propaganda, but that's a two-way street. Currently it would seem we can neither be critical or accommodating.

I'm also befuddled that so many groups don't understand the core of the cyberpunk genre and don't want to seriously look at the issue of transhumanism within dystopia.

1st bit above- Tbh this site is a ton better on civility with such than steam and other forums. Also at least staff let's us discuss such and doesn't delete or lock such unless it gets too out of hand....steam forums are locking and deleting ANY threads(even civil praise) on the matter to blank it from people's minds or whatever reason.

2nd bit above- Adding any messaging to a game/media is fine if those doing so are doing it of their own volition and not pandering to special interests to make a buck or pressured to do so to avoid bad press.

In your example(when compared to outrage mobs and games today) it'd be like if those same mormons and they said they wanted you to accept their beliefs or they wouldn't come & if not they'd call you names and try to shame you.

3rd bit above- AGREED....but for some it's more about the obvious pandering to groups like mine(lgbt+) just to make a buck, and also caving to social media outrage in general, than being truly hateful of anyone or any group.

Wait, you're all over the place.

First, you were claiming that games make people transgender. Have evidence to back up that claim?

Second, drag shows sexualizing children? Pedophilia rings? I question whether you have ever been to drag shows. Between Los Angeles and San Francisco I've been to a few... and what you're claiming is not what was happening. Plus, it seems you might be conflating gay culture (drag) with transgender culture. They are quite different.

(aside: You may also want to look into the "transgender" movement and how many older transsexuals are not a part of that movement. Why? Because many of them believe in the binary... like... I... suspect... you do?)

Third, taking away parents right to choose was not because of "trans people." It was because of children born intersex / DSD (disorder of sex development). I suggest you read up on that. Many DSD children assigned at birth has ended up committing suicide later in life because nature (or God) isn't always perfect.

Oh, you have issue with "the trans community?" OK... fine. Where's your research to back your claims? I'm all for being critical, but just spouting off your feelings isn't empirical evidence of anything.
