I think Black & White by Lionhead studios should be on GOG; to be honest im surprised B&W isn't already with it being the age it is and how good the game was!

I had so many memories in that game spemnding hours throwing people into the distance and training my demigod/thing/animal/whatever!!
If you haven't already, go ahead and toss a vote at the game: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/black_white_5

I'm sure GOG would love to have it here too, given how much interest has been shown and how many wishlist votes there are. When a game is that highly-desired, the reason it isn't here is boiled down to legal or technical problem(s) or both.

low rated
such a bad game.
It isn't as good as you remember. I recently saw someone struggle though both games.

And it probably has more technical problems now than it did at launch, which is saying much, considering what a buggy mess it was at launch.

But hey, if you want to enjoy a game so perfectly minimalist that you can't figure out how to even complete the first level without three guides, then by all means have fun.
I didn't watch the whole video, but at least the first 5 minutes or so made the game look pretty interesting, actually.

One thing I don't get though, what's with Molyneux preferring user-interface designs full of obscure symbols that you have no idea what they are supposed to mean? That was already in old Bullfrog games like Populous, Powermonger, Dungeon Keeper etc., and yes the part in Black&White where you enter your player name, suddenly lots of obscure icons appear. Not sure if they were just about selecting your avatar icon or what?

The sad thing is that I've owned the Black&White retail version for who knows how long (15 years probably), just never installed and played it. Like so many other games I have...

True, I played it at launch and ughhhhh. Feast of bugs, really. Impossible to fix, especially today.

Black & White was great as a dream, and the free zoom was absolutely amazing for its time. But eventually you wake up and see the faults, the bugs and the design problems, get stuck in a never ending tug-of-war with the AI in level three or something, and bury the dream.

Exemplary as far as Molyneux games go, sadly.

Now imagine being stuck on a level where you have to defend a village from fireballs for over an hour in random waves.
I had that game, it was terrible.

Thirty minutes in and I was wanting to kill the cow.

Are you really surprised that Microsoft has nothing to do with GOG? They are rarely release any games on Steam, even Microsoft Store missing this game.

That's the only page i found where it can be bought:

And that's used, not even digitally.

My point exactly, this game is not available unless you do the digital download from some very bad sites.

Me also, it was uglier than the tech demo Peter Molyneux presented (remember detailed red shiny apple lying on a barrel in maximum zoom). I find this game pretty boring.

I accidentally forced my animal to eat his shit (i just pet him), he (it) then decides to throw it around and people started to dance around it and pray. That was unexpected to say the least.

I wouldn't say "abandonware" or piracy sites are automatically "very bad", when they preserve games like this.
