Anyone tried to run this game on 4 GB RAM?

My mistake, I foolishly assumed that GOG had it day one and it was just a very recent game.

The first patch adds audio options in the settings. Well, the GOG versions does not have any audio option whatsoever anywhere. Also, no "vibrant colors", true fullscreen or any other new options according to the changelogs from Steam.

The attachment is the menu options from the GOG version.

Luckily, for other reasons, I've decided not to buy Outcast - Second Contact, but it's just as well.

Now, I've said it before, and that is, why don't developers/publishers give GOG permission to rip patches off the steam game versions for the express purpose of manually updating the GOG versions?

I mean, I understand it takes time and possibly resources maintaining extra versions, even though personally, it's bullshit not updating a game on any platform that you chose to sell it on. But, what if you don't have to do any work? Then what's the excuse?

It's like, these devs are just determined to sell an inferior version on GOG or something. They don't want to do anything, they don't let GOG do anything, what gives?

Gog should suspend the sale of this game until the issue has been resolved.

You can not allow a game to be sold in your store where the developer / distributor does not respond to any message which is disrespectful to users.

Those who have bought it can be able to refund for a month if I'm not mistaken

It's really mind boggling that this happened. We're (sadly) used to games getting abandoned shortly after release, but to be given a 2 month old version at launch is another thing entirely. =/

If it's not for you the publisher would never have updated the game. It's a shame.

In any case you should control more editors like these to avoid these problems.

If companies like Plug and Digital are not going to support games that add to gog better, do not let those companies sell gog games.

Because it won't work that easily for most cases. GOG version and Steam version are not always completely the same. I tried this myself with Darksiders 2 Deathinitive edition which was fixed on Steam but not on GOG for quite sone time and I was unable to get the Steam files work with GOG or vice versa.
Thank you Judas for telling us and getting the updates here. But I am with the rest wondering how this can even happen AT ALL? I mean you know the update problem here on GOG just like the rest of us and it's hard enough to contact all those devs who are just too plain LAZY to update their games here while they don't have any problems still getting money from GOG customers and updating Steam again and again. It's a bad thing but releasing the game here in an outdated state first day not including those patches is even worse: it's a slap in the face for every GOG customer AND GOG itself. And just to say it directly: I like Outcast and I was thinking about buying this but the pure fact that the devs even had the audacity to give GOG an outdated version to relase is now leading to the fact that I won't buy thid or any other game from these devs in future. Sorry for GOG but things like this just CANNOT happen! If you like you can forward my post to the devs so they see what they did. We are people as well, our money is worth the same and we are NOT second class citizens and devs should finally realize this!

Yeah I wasn't quite sure either so I had to check. I had all forgotten about this remake, I already thought we had a "remake" with Outcast 1.1 on GOG.

Anyway, now that the issue is resolved, I might just as well get it on GOG. Was there still some cosmetic DLC missing?

Also, I am wondering that the Steam version hasn't been updated since Dec 6 either (maybe a DLC appeared later, not sure). So is the game now fine and stable and all with no glaring issues, or has the developer just stopped updating it, also on Steam?
