StingingVelvet: There's different kinds of people who play these games.
Solo challenges and whatnot are for the people who love designing character builds and maximizing the system's potential and whatnot, while others (like us) are more in it for the story, exploration, etc. Not that I don't like some good tactical RtwP or turn-based combat, because I very much do, but it's not the whole reason I'm playing the game.
Oh I know, It's hard to not notice Dtgreene on this forum. ;-)
I was just thinking that there are plenty of alternative games to play - that focus less on NPC interaction. I guess I'll never know how it is to experience a certain game, while leaving out something I enjoy a lot.
If I want to play a game about navigating some hell dimension without shooting monsters every few seconds... I can't imagine picking Doom and trying to play it without, well, shooting monsters.
I'm not criticising how others enjoy their games / I'm just curious. Maybe I would've related more a long time ago, when I had endless amounts of time, no money, and a total of 5 games to play :-P
