tacossmellgood: I did. They didn't reply to my email, but I guess there was a couple of replies to this post that I missed. Maybe one of those people is a support guy?
Ashleee: A reply to your ticket was sent on Jul 15 :)
With website migration and review section revamp, some reviews were lost due to the new character limit. Sadly we can't find all of your lost reviews and need to check each game manually for not exported reviews.
I'm sending you your previous review via PM, in case you'd like to edit and post it again.
huh, I didn't get the PM. I accepted you request though.
I might put it back, but it's kinda sad because people usually don't dig that deep in reviews and the current most helpful is unlikely to be dethroned at this point.
Aside from that one, it's probably too much work to go back and remember each one.
rtcvb32: I wonder if they were removing old reviews that seem no longer relevant anymore. Though that doesn't seem like a good idea...
fronzelneekburm: Oh, I think you're giving gog waaaay too much credit. They're bleeding money all over the place already, so I doubt they have the resources/manpower to comb through old reviews.
Like all the other problems on this website, this one is also due to gross incompetence. Reviews going missing is one of the many delightful changes that came with the 10th anniversary site revamp.
At least a third (probably more than half) of my reviews disappeared as well -- including at least two that were voted "most helpful" by the community, namely LSL Reloaded and Hitman: Contracts. Funnily enough, an old review I left for Outlast that went AWOL after I had posted it (and which gog support had been unable to recover) mysteriously appeared when the update went live.
Yes, I read online that many former employees criticized the company and painted a picture of financial uncertainty due to mismanagement. I hope that things are okay enough to keep stuff going. Whatever else is going on, I value the older stuff that they release here.
