Certain games can mean a lot to a person but not technically be the "best" games of all time.

Mine (not in order):

GoldenEye
Half-Life
Rainbow Six
F.E.A.R.
Descent
Unreal
(Heroes of) Might & Magic
Serious Sam (SS2 sucks though)
Age of Empires
Command & Conquer

arsalan12: You should play Doom 2016. It's so much better than Doom 3 and other Doom games IMO.
Doom 3 is basically different genre and better than the original Dooms???? I'm still laughing....

clarry: I probably should. But I'm not willing to sell my soul yet. And honestly I don't believe I would like it more than the classic doom community wads. The problem is the gameplay that locks you in to arenas. Like Serious Sam and Painkiller. And Shadow Warrior 2013... I was really disappointed with that aspect in SW2013.

I really like the open ended level design of the old Dooms. You go where you want to. Maybe you go into a trap, maybe you don't. The pacing isn't artificially divided into "grabbing items time" and "fighting in arena time."
You made the right call. Don't fall for this bait. It's a TRAP!!! If you'd give the original Doom 10/10, then Doom 4 is 7/10 at best.
Oh man, it's really hard to narrow it down to five ... In order to make it easier on myself, I excluded those that have less than three entries. So, for me, it could be these:

Mass Effect trilogy
Monkey Island trilogy
Bioshock
Blackwell
Eye of the Beholder (for old times' sake)

I also want to say Shadowrun, Saints Row, Tomb Raider, Far Cry, and others, but unfortunately I ran out of spaces ... :(

I said it in the end that it's my opinion. You don't have to agree with me and what's there to laugh? it's because I stated my opinion?

I just told him to play the game because he haven't played it yet. I wasn't forcing him to buy right now immediately and in the end I agreed with him, it's his decision. So care to explain why did you say don't fall for this bait and it's a trap?

Let's just say that I disagree with your assessment to put it mildly.

And I said it's a trap because based on what he wrote, I'm 90% sure he wouldn't be impressed by the game.
Witcher 1-3
Uncharted series
Tomb Raider Anniversary, Legend, Underworld
Broken Sword series
Assassins's Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelations (in other words every game with Ezio)
No mention yet of Thief? That was an awesome series as well (1-3).
5 Best video game series of all time.

That's a tough one.

In no particular order.

Need for Speed (till the one that required online connection for single player)
Civilization
Total War (Up to and including Shogun 2)
Steel Panthers (up to and including the best, WinSPMBT)
Wing Commander

GlorFindel: Broken Sword 1+2+4+5; not 3

SpeedBo: Just curious, why not 3?

I found it to be way better than 4.
Storywise it is excellent yes, but clunky controls, box rearranging puzzles/minigame and sneaking does not belong in Broken Sword game! IMHO, of course!

I agree. But I'd still rather replay it than 4.
Just 5? Okay, I'll try

Heroes of Might and Magic
Fallout
Thief
Freespace
Gothic

But it's realy hard to pick just 5 when you have other great series like:

X
Hitman
Alien vs Predator
Arma
Baldur's Gate
Icewind Dale
Doom
GTA
Lords of the Realm
Master of Orion
STALKER
System Shock
Elder Scrolls
Unreal
Mario
Legend of Zelda
Mega Man
Final Fantasy
Metroid

Can you tell I had Nintendo systems growing up?
There isn't such thing as any best series IMO, because games with a franchise pretty much always have one or more entries that either suck or are mediocre.

The truly standout masterpieces in videogames are one-shot deals, like Mafia 1 (whereas Mafia 2 is mediocre and Mafia 3 outright sucks).
