I'm surprised that only one person has said happy birthday so far.

So, without further ado, happy birthday!

Also, games are an awesome way to preserve one's youth ;)

Thanalis: So... turned 35 years old and not much to show for it. How many people have made it past this point and have come to terms with how it will end up?
Oh yeah, another member of the "Born in 1980 Club"! :o) Though, I'll only be 35 a bit later this year.... ^o^

And cheer up, as it can be one your high point in life because of past experiences (good or bad, you've learned from them), still lots of opportunities and if youstayed in good shape, you can still attract the 20-year old girs and up to the 40-year old women ;o)
39, haven't been laid in 20 years and I live with my parents.

Do I get a prize? :P

Do you have any horrible health problems? OR are you a healthy person? If you are a healthy person then that alone is a huge accomplishment. Do you have a job? Just having a job nowadays is a huge accomplishment too. Don't buy into this, "by the time your 35, you should be a millionaire with a house and two cars" bullshit. Because that is what it is. Bullshit. We don't live in the 1950s. Gone are the days when everything is cheap and jobs paid people a decent amount of money. Those who are 35, who are healthy, have a good job, have a million dollars, have a house and two cars today are just lucky or super humans like Khan from the Star Trek Wrath Of Khan movie.

Being 39 doesn't make you that old and living with your parents probably saves you tons of money(and it shows that your parents love you very much) and sex is not oxygen or water. Not having sex, won't kill you. Stop being such an ungrateful little emo bitch. You also have a job and your employers are your parents. So you never have to worry about a dickhead boss who sees you as nothing more than a slave. No, you don't get a prize.

I'll let you know when I get there in a few months.

That being said, I have made a fair amount of progress. It's just the financial aspect that sucks more than anything else. I've never managed to find out about decent jobs. Most of those are never listed on job sites and the ones that are listed are merely listed so they can claim to have tried before getting H-1B visa holders.

CARICATUREKILB: I'm 44 with no rep on here.
I doesn't get any better, you just see things in a more cynical light.
Yeah but unless you are retarded or decided to live in a small bubble all your life, when you are 44 you have gained a lot of wisdom. And wisdom is good stuff. :)
OT

What I can't figure out is monkey post something really sweet and friendly to me here and now, a half hour later, I'm getting crude mean spirited PMs from him.

Fucker is the embodiment of Jekyll & Hyde. :P

I'm 57, have schizo affective disorder(google it if you don't know what it is) and feel like life is flying by. I haven't been able to work in 25 years but I keep reminding myself it could be worse. At least I have games and books to keep my mind busy.

Not to knock your reply but wisdom doesn't always come with age.

I've known retarded people who were much wiser than supposed "normal" people.

I used to have that, it sucks, and most of the professionals are incompetent. As far as I can tell, it's a memory disorder as much as anything else. The only times I have it coming back are when I'm having to really probe my memory or having to look over my shoulder to protect myself.

Unfortunately, getting appropriate treatment from competent professionals is essentially impossible as they'll blame everything on the condition rather than doing their fucking jobs.

Personally, I was very lucky. But, it took a shit ton of intestinal fortitude and faith that if I pretended like my delusions weren't real that they'd go away. Of course, I wound up realizing where the paranoia was coming from eventually, but whether or not it's justified, it still fucks with ones life.

My problems severe depression and hallucinations. For the most part I take my meds I'm okay. Fortunately I have a really good pdoc . But it's all still a bitch.
31 here.

When I was a kid, I thought I'd have some unique brain metamorphosis when I became an adult--to where I'd want to read the newspaper, get all huffy over politics, and pack a briefcase wherever I went. Hasn't happened yet.
What has happened, however, were a couple lightbulb moments on self-discovery. I know quite a few people who are in their 70s that have lived incredibly eventful lives, yet still haven't discovered that piece in their identity that holds the answer to what they want to do with their lives.

35 years is a helluvan accomplishment, not a death clock. Your experiences and identity are aging like fine wine.
