Game's out just for a while, but community is not holding back and changes game to what it should be in their eyes, or just upgrading already working mechanics! Post MODs for Fallout 3 you find here, I'll start with a few:
More realistic weapon sounds - looks great!
Radiation deux - pip boy shows if you are radiated, but not how much, so it's more like in F1 or 2
No compass marker - pretty much self-explainatory :D
Minimal UI MOD - smaller fonts etc.

i honestly do not see the point of removing the EFF display on the pipboy, included in the radiated mod. i like being able to see all the current stat effects my character is experiencing at a glace, without having to do any math in my head while playing the game.
furthermore, do the modders realize that there was a geiger counter in fallout 1 and 2 that gave the player an exact number readout for radiation on the pipboy? so, what's the point of this mod again?

illegalyouth: i honestly do not see the point...

Me neither, I don't have it installed. But someone could want to install it, so why not? It's not like anyone was forcing you to use it :D IMO it's nice someone put some effort to upgrade his own and anyone's experience from the game... You don't see the point, don't use it, I'd install it, IF they added geier counter - item into the game.

yeah, i was not under the impression that anyone would be forced to use the mod... i'm was just voicing my opinion of its, how shall i put this lightly, stupidity ;)
as fallout 3 is now, it's just as if the pipboy comes with a geiger counter already installed from the get go. i suppose it'd be more true to the original games if the geiger counter were a found item instead.
if a geiger counter were added to fallout 3, i'd hope that'd it be an item upgrade that could be integrated into the pipboy, not just a separate item that has to be active, like in the original games.
on that note, seen any plans to put in a motion scanner? now, that'd be a worthy inclusion.
As I said, it would be a good MOD with geier, because you'd be unsure of your irradiation... I think it'd add a bit 'I must survive' feel to the game, even more.
Motion scanner? I guess that'd be useful only with 'radar' turned off - but no, I've never seen something like that planned for F3. Which, of course, doesn't mean it's not.
A Better Pace
A better pace mostly just reduces the amount of exp you get. I do agree you can get to the cap pretty quick. It feels like Bethesda wanted to make this a quick game. I do know there are times where I will answer a question one way and then say 'oh I wonder about the opposite.' With it being quick, I could quickly move on to where I'd be able to do just that, but is that really how a game should be operated?
Replace The Music
This is an addon that allows you to replace the music with some music some guy chose. Tell me what you think of it. :P

Zuffox: There's an ongoing ...

Great collection, thank you!
try Fallout 3 Nexus: [url=http://www.fallout3nexus.com/http://www.fallout3nexus.com/[/u[/url]]
quite a bit of stuff already posted in their files section.
If anyone's interested, here's a list of the mods that I use. I didn't want to change the entire game using this. What I'm using are mostly smaller tweaks. I'm using one big balance mod, though, "Welcome To The Wasteland":
-Welcome To The Wasteland: Made by the developer of "Better Pacing Mod" (or "A Better Pace"), it includes that, to make you level up more slowly, so you don't reach the maximum level halfway through the game if you are an explorer-type, and adds a lot more to make the game more challenging, but not necessarily harder. Stimpaks are more expensive and useful, so food becomes more important for general healing and thus the radiation from the food has to be taken into account a lot more. Also your own skills are more important, as the skill bonuses from armor has been decreased and for example strength now plays a bigger role in determining the weight limit just like agility is now more important for the amount of Action Points you have. Another major change is the amount of ammo and skill books you can find, so you won't be overwhelmed by those. There are a lot more changes but I am liking them all a lot. I am playing on hard and the game has not really become "hard", but I'm sure it is more fun than it would be without the mod.
-DarNified UI F3: This makes most menus like the Pipboy-inventory, the barter screen and dialogue menu a lot more suitable to the PC version, thus mostly smaller and better arranged. You don't have to scroll so much and for example the condition, raditation and effects in the "Status" menu have been merged. The new font for the HUD takes some getting used to, but apart from that I can highly recommend this, even though it is still not finished.
-PipWare UI (onlyScrollVert): The "onlyScrollVert" file of this mod simply makes the scroll bars in menus a lot more useful, as you don't have to perfectly click on the few pixels wide scroll bars anymore.
-Shoulder Cam: Moves the third-person camera closer to the character and places it a little higher. In my opinion it makes the third-person view a lot more comfortable to use.
-Enhanced Night Sky: Changes the starry sky to a highly more detailed and interesting one, making the night a bit of a sight to behold.
-Remove Compass POI Markers: Removes the "Point of Interest" markers on the compass, so you don't know beforehand if what you're going to explore is an interesting location or not. It also removes the personal and the quest markers, though, but navigation still works fine using the compass alone. Doesn't change anything about the markers for friendly and enemy NPCs.
I've been using the mods, especially WttW, since the beginning of my first playthrough, I am now about 23 hours into the game, level 6 and greatly enjoying it. I think I've heard of most interesting mods which are out for Fallout 3 at the moment, but I am deliberately only using the ones mentioned above and wouldn't want to miss any of them :)
