If they put the game up for 50% off, I'd buy it right now.
In short - no chance.
Pretty unlikely, considering it just released and has hundreds of thousands of concurrent players. The game is excellent and runs with no problems on my PC. There are some bugs but none of mine have overshadowed the quality of the storytelling.

Maybe you'll get a small refund around 'Valentine's Day'.

Lots of users on here claiming the game is excellent in spite of literally everyone knowing it's not. Did CDPR hire you?

It has a lot of bugs and glitches for sure, but the time you get to play between it crashing the game is excellent.

I haven't had a single crash. Some bugs sure but most minor.

Unless GoG/CDPR is desperate because the number of customers demanding a return of money instead of store credit is very high I wouldn't expect to see this game on offer for a very long time. If it's going to develop anything like The Witcher 3 at least not until start of autumn sale next year at the earliest with 10%-off tops. 2023 or early 2024 is a safe bet for 50% discounts to appear during big sales and 10, 20 or 30% during regular sales. The real sweet deals of up to 90% will start coming at around 24 or 25 at big sales and 30~50% during their publisher sale or some other special sale. Fifth birthday, company birthday, ...

I can only speak for the PS4 version running on a PS5, but it feels like it crashes every 5 hours or so.
Say what?

It runs great for me too, couple of graphical issues, nothing major. Not everyone is having problems with the game.
I have only 2 problems with CP2077. Lower than usual FPS (50 - 60 depends on location and im playing whith most options on ultra and in 1440p) and some minor graphical gliches, thats all. Game never crashed, frozen or anything like that.

Same on pc. Not a single crash yet. Performance seems to get worse during long sessions and restarts fixes this, but nothing game breaking yet. Only silly bugs like motorcycle getting stuck on geometry, calling vehicle not working properly and npcs being generally weird.

As for op, no way the game is going on sale anytime soon. I know the game is getting lots of negativity thrown at it, mainly because people expected a life altering experience and they only got a good game instead, but I fully believe the negativity has done very little to impact sales and would bet money on most waiting on patches instead of getting refunds, or buying the again when word of mouth says it's okay to do so. The game is good and we know it's getting roughly 3 or more years of support from CDPR including updates, patches, free dlc, paid dlc and multiplayer. Abadoning the project would harm their sales of whatever game they have planned next. So yeah, don't see it going on sale for awhile.

I mean look at gwent. Cdpr has shown they will stick with a game even if it's very flawed and they will do major overhauls to try and appease their playerbase's concerns. The idea that they are going to dump this game or that it's not worth it's current asking price is nonsense.

The game is excellent, looking through your profile, it doesn't look like you have even played the game. If CDPR pays the people who like the game, does that mean trolls like you work for free?

I suppose I was hoping to "cash in" on the negative hype. I had a chance to play it on PC and it ran just fine. Sure, some little glitches and bugs, but nothing major. Look at NMS, that had some serious bad press and complaints. I waited to buy that for about a year or so...and that was at 50% off. I probably won't have the patience to wait for Cyberpunk to go on sale.

Yup, completely smooth for me with everything on Ultra. So far the only bugs I've seen are the occasional physics fail you tend to expect from open world games, and recently the odd audio cut out on radio and TV.

In fact it's slightly disappointing. After fifty hours the funniest bugs to hit me were being randomly killed by jumping in to a lamp post and a busker playing an invisible guitar. By this point in the average Bethesda release I'd expect to have been randomly thrown into orbit at least three times. I've not even seen the usual telescopic corpse limbs, perpetual motion debris or airborne corpses I look forward to in these games. There's a real risk I might actually finish the main plot due to a lack of other amusements.
The game has huge success despite all the drama in the internet, and pretty high score - both gog and steam are close to 80% positive. No chance of discount for now.
