Just whooped through Episode 2, and I'm loving this more and more (shame the bosses aren't as epic as Duke 3D and Doom). Anyway, Episode 2 is where you first run into Phantasms. First time I ran into one, I jumped from my seat. Subsequent encounters with them have always been quite shocking too, due to their...special way of making an entrance.
Anyone else constantly getting freaked by these bad boys?

Only all the time. Its their scream man, its the scream. And the fact that they run up on you at 90 miles an hour! If there ever was a Blood 3 I can only imagine the sort of mouse throwingly scary encounters one would have with a 21st century incarnation of the phantasm.
To be honest they annoy me more than anything, watching them whirl around the ceiling refusing to materialise! The devil dogs on the other hand, whenever I turn a corner and see them charge at me I run away in a blind panic and fumble for my napalm cannon.

Wait until hand is choking you and two ghosts jump you out of nowhere. You will remember my warning when it happens.
Yeah, they're a hell of a nasty bastards - and especially the scream. I ALWAYS have a gooseflesh from these beasts.
I just got the game and I'm playing on the second hardest difficulty. What difficulty do most people play on, I'm guessing medium?

I think so yes ;) they should play hard! They are gonna cry like babies. ;)
I find that you can stun the second boss with a few tnt sticks, it will just slide along the floor and not do anything.

And those buggy eyes. Man they're ugly.
The first time I encountered the Phantasms, I didn't figure out that they were actually vulnerable! After a few failed attempts to somehow hurt the thing, I concluded that it couldn't be done, and so I took a different approach...

By the time I finished that level, I had a collection of about six or eight Phantasms circling and screaming away in an area locked off from the rest of the level :)

Every time I encountered another one, I'd lead it back through the level and out the door to join the others, and then carefully time my dash back through the door so that none of them followed me back.

I felt a bit daft once I looked them up in the manual; but then again, that collected horde of Phantasms was pretty funny :)

LOL Great story, man! I can imagine how this room looked (and sounded) at the end...

This also shows how truly versatile this game is. :)

I would have never thought about doing that because I shot at it until I had nothing left. Then I pitchforked the sucker. Good story man.
